Yeah there's a few countries like Australia but the majority of developed countries have access to these same games as Americans. How about Americans look north of the border at Canada? No regulations on these games yet just compare the number of gun murders per 1000 people.

The NRA needs to realize that these violent video games are played around the world. If these games really caused as much damage as the NRA claims, then these regular public mass shootings wouldn't primarily be an American problem.

I'm a big Sony fan but it's really disappointing to see them cut backwards compatibility out of the ps3 and then start reselling ps2 games as digital downloads on the playstation store. I'm sure there are plenty of ps3 owners that still have San Andreas on a ps2 disc but will be forced into buying it again in order to play it on their ps3. A very unethical cash grab. The whole backwards compatibility issue was handled very poorly by Sony this gen. Hopefully it's not a problem with ps4.

For Rockstar, it's a matter of sales. GTA4 sold 18 million on consoles and 4 million on PC. I'm sure they looked at that figure and decided to focus on developing GTA5 for the consoles first. I think that 4 million figure isn't entirely fair though since GTA4 was released 6 months later on PC than on consoles. Even so, no one can deny that if the PC and console versions of GTA5 are released together, the console versions will sell more. So instead of dividing the studio's attention between three platforms, I guess they're focusing on consoles first.

I thought Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 looked great. My eyesight must be terrible.

@thedarklinglord I find it funny how PC gamers think they're superior and consoles shouldn't be part of the industry. They're ignorant of the fact that it is because of consoles that gaming is the multi-billion dollar industry it is today. How many studios would've shut down by now if there were no consoles making games affordable for everyone and expanding the market? How many AAA games would've never been released? Would GTA5 ever have been in the plans if the previous games in the series hadn't performed well on consoles and sold millions? I highly doubt it. Consoles from the last couple of decades have transformed gaming from an expensive niche activity into a popular and affordable mainstream form of entertainment.

I'm all for this game getting released on PC as long as it doesn't slow down development or affect the quality of the game. Just not sure if it's a good idea for the team's attention to be divided into three ways. Maybe the PC version should be released a few months after the console versions so the team won't have as much on its plate at the same time?

Don't understand why we can't have the best of both worlds. Release new games digitally on the same day they're released on retail. That way, you're giving gamers a choice on how to purchase content. Maybe games sold digitally can be sold at a lesser price in order to entice gamers with a good internet connection to buy digital.
