To all RPG gamers out there. ROF is such a great game. The battling is so strategic and difficult it will keep you on your toes the whole time. If you think standard RPG battling is too easy (like myself), and want a serious challenge go strait to Resonance of Fate

It's one of the best RPG's I have ever played/owned. It's just REALLY hard, but that's why I love it. My biggest complaint about RPG's is that they are too easy. ROF is a worthy game. Check it out

you failed to give any specific examples. I am simply curious to see evidence of this claim. Any what do you mean by a port? FF XIII was originally a PS3 game (exclusively in Japan for example). It was ported to Xbox if anything, and I have never seen that version. What hick ups? I have yet to see anything of that nature, and I am pretty far into the game. You also failed to mention how far into the game you actually are. Don't you think to make an accurate analysis you need to fully complete both games, and then make a wide ranging side-by-side critique?

And I am sure if either of us looked closely enough UC 2 it would have some "hick-ups" as well. No game is perfect. If anything is a fact, I would say that is one of them.

I am talking about PS3, not the FF on Xbox. Maybe you know more than me, but FF looks better to me. The facial recognition on Uncharted 2 maybe a little better, but the overall FMV character interaction plus lush environments simply look better to me. Plus, don't you think that quote can be somewhat dated with the latest releases in gaming? Things can way too fast to state a particular game looks the best for an extended period? Secondly, even though the GT guys are fairly good, reviews nonetheless are opinions of peers and professionals. So perhaps someone at IGN would disagree with that analysis (which is generally the case when you look over a large body of literature). Perhaps you could give me specific examples within both games I could examine and give you feedback? Have you finished FF XIII on the PS3? I own all 3 games, so I can go to anything you point me towards and perhaps I will see the proverbial light.

From GS-

"FF XIII's opening-week performance has secured it the claim of 'largest first-week sales in franchise history.' To date, the Final Fantasy franchise has combined to sell more than 96 million units worldwide in its more than 20-year history"

1 million units in Japan first day

1 million units is NA in first 5 days

Expected- 6 million units sold

Good God!! That's pretty ridiculous ;)

Someone needs to roll around in the water in Uncharted 1 once again and remember just how amazing that game truly does look. Uncharted has NONE of the jaggies present in FFXIII and the lighting is much better. The shadows in Uncharted are a sight to behold. I am not stating opinions. I am stating facts. Uncharted 1 and 2 look better than FFXIIIvalereth-1

 I disagree.

IMO FF XIII looks better then Uncharted (even though I love and own both of them). We are back to this opinion vs. fact again. Unless you are a graphics designer, and can substantiate your claims with actual evidence like numbers and programing code verses "the shadows in Uncharted are a sight to behold" (which by every measure of rhetoric is an opinion) then it's simply what you see with your eyes and not fact. I would be glad to respectfully listen to your evidence, and will take it into consideration but please lay off strong handed language. We were already warned about this.

I actually disagree. To me FF XIII looks much better than Uncharted 1 & 2. GOW and FF seem pretty close tho

FFXII stuck a nice chord between linearity and explortation for RPGs. The world was huge, beautiful and fun to explore, but the game was not open endedvalereth-1

I see your point my friend. FF XII was a really cool game. I know people are disappointed with XIII, but i really love it a lot. I find the story to be real interesting and the fighting in my eyes is just about the best the series has ever seen. It's such a nice breed of turn based, free roaming, real time *** kicking with a cool job system and great spells. Yet, I also really enjoyed the air of XII's system as well. They are all different and that is why FF is great. They have roots, but (at least contemporary ones) are all pretty different. I just could never find the patience to fully exploit FF XII, but i do have a fairly short attention span.... so hey! oh well ;)

btw (again)- I beat GOW again... Jesus I understand why you "strongly disagree". You have some points for sure. I will have to beat FF XIII and we should have a talk about what we think. They are both so damn rad
