Hey, i know this has been something of a hot topic of late, im not trolling, just move along if your not interested. However, i'm really dissapointed that i cant run bad company 2, i thought my rig was good, not great by any means, but its ok.

I have:
Corsair 550w PSU
PNY 8800gts 512mb
Gigabyte p35 ds3l (socket 775)
e8400 @ stock 3.0ghz (one of the best core 2 duos ?)
Antec 300 Tower
4gb Corsair 800mhz ram
500gb Samsung HDD
200gb Maxtor HDD
500gb Seagate External HDD

I think the problem is my monitor.. i got it off ebuyer, its http://www.ebuyer.com/product/161787 @ 1920x1080 which i think is why it runs so bad.

I get like 15 fps on low (if that) with everything turned off e.g. AA AT

Any help on why im having this problem? thanks.

[QUOTE="Hadentar"]

[QUOTE="caseypayne69"]Whats the chances of my new labtop to run Fallout 3 or Bioshock at all? Or maybe better then the PS3 and 360?caseypayne69

To be honest, that laptop will not even come close to the performance of an xbox 360 or a ps3 and will not run many new games.

Well that sucks, what old pc games can I look forward too?

You'd get half decent results on anything using the hl2/source engine, so hl2, css would be playable on decent resolutions on like low/med

I am aware that the 8800gts slightly better in performance, but is this enough to merit me messing sending the 9800gt and spending more money?

9800gt vs 8800gts

Just wondering which one i should get, i've ordered a Zotac 9800gt 512mb pci 2.0 from a different website for 90 pounds, but i came on a website today and seen PNY 8800gts g92 512 mb pci x16 for 95 pounds.

Note: my Mobo is pci 2.0 if that helps
Should i send my 9800gt back when i get it and spend 5 pounds more and get the 8800gts? is it worth it? need help, thanks all

Regards

I'm in the process of building a computer and i have picked the 4850 however upon reading some information on the internet, people have said that they run very hot and you run the risk of them overheating. How much truth is in this ? Much Appreciated.

Regards

TIA

64 Vista> 64 XP> 32 Vista > 32 XPteldath

Screw that, XP 64 is the worst OS i've ever worked with.
