Does Anyone know if that processor will work with the given specs above on a 600-700w PSU?Ghost_loy

Providing its not a cheap crappy one, 600-700w should be fine.

Really? Last year they were like £90-£100, now they're like £140-£150.

Damn the economy.

Yeah you'll need to upgrade your PSU - I'd recommend on spending a fair bit on a branded one, cheap ones are a sure fire way to kill your computer.

Generally i would like to know which one is better.

Also i would like to know which one you would choose out of these CPUs

Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.50GHz (800FSB)

or

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000 3.10GHz (Socket AM2)

Obviousthe AMD clock speed is higher, but i've heard that Intel and intel 2.3-2.5ghz dual core/core 2 duo would out perform an AMD 3.1ghz dual core.

Ok, quite simple really.
In gaming, what would be better?

A 8800gt 265mb and a Q6600 2.4ghz

Or

A HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB and a Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.5ghz.

Thanks in advance.

Also, what do you think of this graphics card? Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4830 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Its slightly cheaper, its in stock and it has a 2 year warranty instead of 1?

To be honest the motherboard that Cornholio suggested looks a little cheap and nasty, plus I'm not sure whether it supports the 45nm chips (ie the 5200), or how well it overclocks.

If you want to save a bit more money, see if you can find this mobo in stock anywhere. MSI have a habit of making really nice, cheap boards.

Is that motherboard ok? like you said it only has 2 RAM slots which is fine, but does it effect anything else? im not planning to SLI or anything.

EDIT: Nvm about the question, im getting confused :P
