[QUOTE="HailEnki"][QUOTE="Zero_Fate_"]Even if the sales are lowering (which there not its called online distribution and its not being factored in most sales you see noob) So what? Developers even if they are not making much, many can't afford the expensive move to the console industry and even if they could, most publsiers wouldnt even give them the chance to. Add the fact that many even if there not making big bucks most of them are making enough money to STAY in business and know that at any moment they can hit it big, they know the people are out their, look at the top selling recent games for PC they sell better then perhaps any console game has recently.Ok first of all before saying this let me claim that im more of a hermit than anything else (although im not really a hermit).
Ok, the PC GAMING IS GOING TO BE IN A DECLINE. Yeah, the quality of the PC games is increasing and it makes people want to get it.....out of piracy. In otherwords, PC gamers themselves are killing PC gaming. Developers would be kind of foolish to create more exclusive games because chances are that if it doesnt have a famous name on it (or if some angry guy doesnt want to support the company but still wants to play the game) than chances are that they will pirate the game which will decrease the sales. Yeah, some games are harder to pirate than others but that wont stop them and yes, even console games can be pirated but the difference is that pirating a PC game can be obtained through a simple download and CD-crack. If you pirated a game for the console, youll be taking a risk of getting caught by Xbox Live and heck even Sony Online.I mean what developer wants to sell something for the PC when they arent going to make as much profit as consoles? There are rare exceptions but for the most part the PC gaming industry is going to be in a decline if the piracy issues dont change.

Decline or incline the small companies that keep making these great games are making enough to stay in business and will not be making the move to the console industry for a variety of reasons. Meaning year and year again. Every single year for the 360/PS3/Wiis life you are going to see the PC with more AAAEs/AAEs then any single one any given year and in some cases more then all of them combined.
Ok, first off Online Distribution helped sales. So what? The majority of the people would still prefer to get it for free. Take a good look at whats happening with Double Agent for the PC. ALOT of the community members (even people that claim that they are Splinter Cell fans) would prefer to get the game through piracy. If I take a poll with every PC gamer thinking about purchasing Double Agent, they would want it through piracy. Also the developers dont have enough cash to move to the console industry isnt really true. Take a good look at the PC's top 10 selling games currently, most of them are already involved with the console industry. As for the top recent games? Wait until 2-3 weeks time, the PC game sells would be runned over by Gears of War, Zelda and probably Resistance.
Staying in business is tougher than it sounds when your distributing something for the PC, you can make a budget getting the development needs out of the PC but than it probably wont sell alot. If you take a risk getting your hands on a development kit than the game might be a big hit and you could probably make a million-dollar game. Its more likely on the console than the PC. And yes, thats why PC gaming has such quality titles in the first place. Counter-Strike for example never though of a commercial release but thanks to the extreme popularity its one of the most populated online games ever. Was this by luck or by making a quality title? Both, without Half-Life than Counter-Strike never would have existed. Without Counter-Strike, Half-Life's sales would have lowered drastically.
