the Best and the Worst

well... GameSpot's "Best & Worst - 2006" is closing in, starting in Dec. 14, 2006 4 P.M. PST (or 00:00 in UK) with "GameSpot's LIVE Kickoff" and will end at Jan. 26, 2007(!) with "The Readers' Choise". which games have the best original soundtracks?, and which you should have run away from? all will be revealed (or at least, start) in "On The Spot".

"We're LIVE!!!!!, and Ooooon The Spooooot" - Rich Gallup

something about WHEN i'll buy my new PC

i'll buy my PC in the spring or summer of 2007 for few reasons:

1. price drop.

2. Windows VISTA - Ultimate Pack: will come out (with the other VISTA Packs) in 30th jan. 2007.

3. like i wrote 2 blogs back (the title: "live damn it!"), i'll need a little more cash.

my "Shopping List" (for now):

Windows VISTA - Ultimate Pack (about 750$ according to Mircosoft).

2 GeForce 8800 GTXs (about 600$ each = 1,200$).

2 ASUS' nForce 680i Motherboards (250$, up to 8GB of RAM EACH! - 500$).

Intel's QX6700 Proccesor (4 Proccesors, Q for Quad) (1,300$) OR Intel's E6800 Duo (2 Proccesors) (1,000$).

700W Power Supply Unit (my current 400W won't be enough for all the new hardware, now does it?) (about 200$, i'll check again to make sure).

maybe (and again: MAYBE) new Hard-Drive (i have 80GB, and it good enough for me).

4 1GB RAM cards (200$ each, 800$ total).

Physical Proccesing Unit (PPU) (300$).

TOTAL: 750+1,200+1,300+200+800+500+300=5,050 (or 4,750 if i'll buy the E6800 Duo) (I'm not sure about Power Supply Unit (PSU) cost).

NOTE: some or all prices maybe incorrect by up to 100$ (or more) cheaper or more expansive. i'm looking at the various prices from various stores and write a-little-more-expansive price (for the margin of error).

a much-needed life-support advise

i what to say thanks to hardware guide writer and editor Sarju "SarjuS" Shah for helping me on how to help my PC "survive" 'till i'll buy the hardware (about in spring 2007). THANKS

live damn it! LIVE!!

well.... my computer is quite old and it shows unfortunetly. sudden freezes, lock-ups and unable to run games ALTHOUGH my computer is meeting the recommended requirements and even surpass them he's still freezing during such games like: C&C: Generals and Zero:Hour, Halo (low frame rate, even at low-medium setting), Warcraft III and The Frozen Throne (takes too much time to load level, nearly 1 minute) and more and more.... my hardware:

Intel's 3GHz CPU (x2) operating togather at 4.5GHz.

512 RAM (DDR).

80GB hard-drive

nVIDIA's GeForce 6200 TurboCache (256MB RAM - 400MHz GPU).

Intel's D915PGN MotherBoard (512 RAM - Non-ECC).

DVD-ROM x16/CD-ROM x48, can play (CD): audio CD, CD-ROM/XA, video CD, CD-I, photo CD, karaoke CD (i know... -_-), CD extra and CD text.

(DVD): DVD-5/9/10/18, DVD-ROM, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, video DVD, 1 or 2 DVD layers.

WINDOWS XP - PRO - SP2

usually good hardware, right? (the DVD-ROM is new, the rest isn't) but what to do? the DUST has hit again, i've cleaned the computer before (i think 8 months ago... or 9?) but this time the DUST has hit harder, so i'll get a new PC soon (just in a few months) which will include (i requested this hardware, the local PC Repair Shop will put the hardware toghater):

Intel's 3.8GHz CPU (x2) maybe operating at 6.5GHz (i don't think anyone has tried).

1GB RAM (DDR) (x4) total 4GB RAM(!!).

nVIDIA's GeForce 8800 GTX (!) with shader 4.0, DirextX10 Support, AA and AF will work at their highest setting AT THE SAME TIME! and bigger (and better) GPU and RAM capacity.

Intel's/ASUS' 1GB Non-ECC MotherBoard (x2)!

(maybe) 120+GB hard-drive (imagine i'll get the legendery 1TB (1 Tera-Byte = 1,000 Giga-Byte) hard-drive!).

i'll keep my DVD-ROM drive.

WINDOWS VISTA! (which will include: new interface, DirectX10, Windows Media Player (WMP) 11, Internet Explorer 7, improved security protection and more...)

i know that the PC will cost ALOT (and if i'll get the 1TB hard-drive... thank god i saved cash for a VERY long time).

so wish me luck.

P.S.:

the reason i'm waiting few month BEFORE i'll buy the hardware is:

A. VISTA will be released.

B. the prices will drop (even if it will be by just 100$).

C. i'll need a little more cash before i'll have enough to buy the hardware.

the new icon

well, just look at my profile (to the right -_-), NEW ICON! a turkey icon, what i've done to get this? not like i'm offended or something but, for the WII icon i watched the live WII broadcast, for the F icon i wrote the tags but for the turkey icon i've done.... what? never mind.

TURKEY IS GOOD!

easily offended and I nearly got a ban...

i saw "47 Calls the HotSpot" by Tom "Noweb_Basic" Bowen and it was good (as always) so i wrote a comment, i used the F word (i know, i know.... i shouldn't but....) i've used the stars *** to "block" some words so from an F word it became: fcing. AND SOMEONE REPORTED THAT THIS COMMENT WAS AN ABUSE!!!!!!!!! i wrote a 2nd comment that say: "cool video". that's it (SO I WON'T "OFFEND" HIM!). who ever you are, thanks for NEARLY GETTING ME A BAN!!, gish.... some people are so @^*$%! right?

the WII launch....

well.... the WII is now up for sales and that mark the change from "Next Gen." to the "Current Gen.". and good luck for all the GameSpot editors, now they have to review alot of games (and don't forget the PC games) in a little time (i think until thank giving, i don't know. but maybe?) so continue the good job GS editors and hope you watched the WII launch.

HAPPY THANKS GIVING to you all! (who celebrate it).
