Hello guys.

Today I have a single XFX 8800 GTX, which is working well. But considering the bigger need of high-end hardware these days, I will yet again upgrade.

Now.. Since I quite lack the skills needed to know which kind of parts make a good computer I turn to you.

Should I stick with the XFX-manufacturer or change? I know XFX is good but is it outmatched against another manufacturer, such as evGA?

And, the most important thing, what additional things should I have in mind when buying? What about the Power supply?

Today I have a Silver Power PSU, 600W, with a 120 mm fan, Blue light, ATX/EPS, 2xpci-e, 20/24 pin.
Since this came with the computer and I hadn't heard of it before I suppose it ain't good, but have in mind that I just need parts suffice to handle the card itself with no drawbacks/Bottle-necking.

I have a C2D E6850, which in my opinion is okay for this year out. It's not a vast processor, but it's no sucker either. Still, I know processors are getting cheaper, but I will stick with it if it's enough for the card.

Have 2 GB of RAM which, of course, will be doubled soon since Vista, along with games as Crysis, eats it away.

Now, what do you guys think? What must I KNOW before/after buying?

TIA /// HEavy.

Now, I'm wondering if I must dl my XFX Geforce 8800 GTX-drivers from XFXforce.com or if the newest drivers there is the same as on the NVIDIA site.

This is my current drivers: 7.15.0011.6925

I THINK they are old but I am uncertain and are now asking for help/advice. Where should i DL from?

Thx in advance /// Heavy.

Hello guys.

As all of you certainly know, Sp1 for Vista is downloadable. So here are my questions:

You know the windows update function, which search for and downloads any available updates for your comp? Does that one automatically download Sp1 when you download any available updates or do you have to manually download it by going to Microsofts site?

And furthermore, I've heard that AT LEAST some updates that are included in SP1 is also included in the "auto-update" function I've talked about. Now, what would happen if I dl Sp1 and new files are added by old, but SAME files? Can this cause trouble or will it just overwrite/replace those files?

THX in advance ///HEavy.

It is FULLY patched, and I've also tried tweaking the game with an Options.ini file, without success.

It's weird? Have a bad computer and you won't play a game with all its graphical richness. Go buy a good computer and you won't be able to play it at all? Wtf?

Any other help appreciated.

Hey guys. I've come across quite a problem that I can't seem to solve.

Well, I tried to start BFME 2 after installation, which worked perfect, but after the logo-screen (Is it also called splashscreen?), a message comes up saying the game has crashed.

Well, my drivers are all as updated as possible, I've tried running the game in compatibility mode and "as administrator", without success.

Sometimes a message also comes up saying something about "CC++ Runtime error Game.dat".

It's NOT the disc considering it being my friendĀ“s, and it works brilliant on his comp.

Rig:

C2D e6850
8800 GTX
2 GB RAM
Vista 32 bit
X-Fi Extreme gamer.

Please help me guys if possible.

///Heavy.
