I don't have a camera, so this is unfortunately the best I can do for my battle against Mario.
It doesn't make the best warstory material, since I do sweep quite a bit using one of my old pokemon, since its replacement hasn't been bred yet. I did get some requests for this from some PLU members though, so I made it. I will refer to myself in 3rd person, and I will remove any nicknames.
Blue is for Mario's moves.

MarioMainic sends out Empoleon
Hegna1 sends out Forretress
Right now, I still think Mario's going with his general water team (though he posted otherwise before). Almost no water types are immune to spikes, so you can see why what I do next makes sense. Also Empoleon usually doesn't carry fire moves. Forretress isn't going to faint that quickly.
Empoleon uses Ice beam (Not very Effective) It deals about a sixth of Forretress' health.
Forretress uses spikes. Spikes are scattered around.
This has got to be a joke, Ice beam on Forre is basically handing me a free turn, especially if I have leftovers (though I don't on forretress). I was assuming a water attack would start, though hoping for aqua jet (forretress takes nothing from a lot of physical hits) was silly.
Empoleon uses surf. Forretress takes enough damage to send it to about 1/10 of its health.
Forretress uses spikes. Spikes are scattered around.
That's what I expected to start off with. I got an extra layer of spikes thanks to Mario's mistake though. Forretress is done for now, and I might be able to use it later, so I'll swap to something that can take Surf, and hopefully get a swap, so I can get start setting something up.
Hegna1 swaps in Umbreon
Empoleon uses Surf. It deals just over 1/16 of Umbreon's health.
Umbreon recovers health using leftovers. It regains almost all the health lost.
Just as I expected Mario continues with surf. Umbreon can obviously tank special hits well, and basically gets a free swap. Now I have to make Empoleon leave for a bit.
Empoleon uses Drill Peck. Another small hit, it brings Umbreon down to about 7/8 of its health.
Umbreon uses Confuse ray. Empoleon is confused.
Umbreon restores health using leftovers. Umbreon is now at about 15/16 of its health.
Good, now that it's confused he'll either swap, or knock himself silly. I'm hoping for a swap, but am going to go with the move I would use if it stayed in (just because I'm assuming Mario doesn't work like most people).

Umbreon uses bite. Infernape takes another 1/16 of its health, maybe less.
Umbreon restores health using leftovers. It's just a bit (1-5 points) below full health now.
Perfect. Infernape is exactly the kind of thing I wanted to start setting up on. He's also obviously going to go with a fighting move to try and knock out Umbreon. Bad idea in this case.
Hegna1 swaps in Salamence. Intimidate lowers the opponents attack.
Infernape uses Close Combat. It's not very effective. Salamence takes about 1/16 of its health in damage.
I get out my trump pokemon. I'm not usually one to use Salamence or other really abused pokemon, but I don't have much else to counter Mario's signature water types. Either way it's time to set-up. I hope mario fears a flying move, or wants to get rid of the intimidate decrease. That would get me just enough time to finish.

Infernape uses Earthquake. It doesn't affect Salamence.
o.O. What's Mario thinking with Earthquake? Salamence threatens Earthquake and a STAB flying move (though it wouldn't be a good flying move), both of which can knock out infernape if it's salamence is choice or life orbed, which it most likely is. I'm not likely to swap out to something that he can KO or even dent with Earthquake, since I only really fear an ice move, which Infernape can't learn. He just gave me a free turn, and another DD. Lucky me, I see a full team salamence sweep coming.

Now he might have something to hit me with, since swampert usually caries some type of ice move. On top of that, I have 2X my attack and speed, no need to wait any longer.
Salamence uses Dragon Rush. Swampert faints. Salamence loses 10% of its health (life orb).
Mariomainic swaps in Empoleon. It takes about 3/16 of its health in spikes damage.
Salamence sweeps for a while, no more interruptions from me until something else happens, I just use whatever I think is most suited, super effective if possible, otherwise, I usually use a fang move for the accuracy.
Salamence uses Thunder fang. It's super-effective! Empoleon faints. Salamence loses 10% of its health.

Infernape uses flamethrower. It's not very effective, and does little damage, but salamence is in red from all the earlier life orb damage.
Geez, I try ending this using a STAB move, just because I find it more epic, and I get this... Salamence is gone no matter what now, so I'll just go with STAB again. My next pokemon's a guarenteed K.O. if Salamence misses again.
