have you played ANY of the original Castlevania's? because it sounds ALOT like you've only played Lords of Shadows.

Because this is a reboot and Gabriel Belmont has no affiliation with the original Belmonts. This was stated time and again throughout the entire development cycle of the game.

really, what is seemed like Kojima did was handpick elements of the ****ing original Castlevania games and then put them in this new series, except without any logical explanation or needed purpose.

I have no problem with the game being 3D or not being in a caslte (lost of castlevania's aren't in castles). But they did it at the expense of everything castlevania related.

A Metroid Prime approach would be musch better (no, I don't mean first person). Take the game out of 2D without sacrafiing the castlevania gameplay.

i concur, and i didn't even mind the 3D approach.

but then they get rid of EVERYTHING that made Castlevania, Castlevania.

- why the **** is the Vampire Killer there if there's not even any Dracula until after the 'effing credits?

- why are we forced to fight a Titan every 3rd of the game? this held no relevancy to Castlevania at all, and felt like something they felt obligated to input in order to not feel stale. that's all fine and good- except for the fact they neglected to actually give the player some reasonable story element to back up said inclusion.

Ok I just beet the game yesterday and all I can say is...What the Hell!I was very disappointed that you didn't fight Dracula or the Grim Reaper at all, but Satan instead. Then the end after the credits you are Dracula! WTF! There is such a gap in the story I'm just speechless. The game was great to me, but that final boss and the ending was just literally garbage. What do you guys think? Did you understand howGabriel became Dracula?

how the **** are they going to make Gabriel Belmont the new Dracula? that's the equivalent of me opting to make Link from Legend of Zelda the new antagonist and in turn i'm forced to play as Ganondorf for the rest of the series.

i knew this was insinuated to be the start of a new Castlevania chronology, but to the extent of not even including the original ****ing Dracula (Mathias)?

your thoughts? should they continue with the current, new Castlevania series they've established or return to the original continuity?

edit: and my other complaint is that they decided to make a BELMONT the new antagonist. i mean...WTF? that RUINS THE ENTIRE STORY. do they not realize that the Vampire Killer was a weapon GRANTED to the Belmont clan in order to combat Dracula everytime he was reincarnated?
