Ants: Can see polarized light but if I step on it then it can not see anything. I win.

Bees: Can detect magnetic fields but I can also detect them with equipment as well as create them & I can even steal honey from a bee. I win.

Dogs: Has olfactory membrane up to 150 sq. cm. humans have about 4 but a dog eats out of a bowl on the floor while I can order pizza. I win.

Elefants: Has hearing range between 1 and 20,000 Hz but I own a X-Fi Fatality Xtreme Gamer Professional Series sound card capable of 24-bit Digital-to-Analog conversion of digital sources at 96kHz to analog 7.1 speaker output and when I turn the volume up to 11 my neighbors can hear any song I play even when all the doors and windows are closed. I win.

Falcon: Can see a 10 cm. object from a distance of 1.5 km. So what? I've seen galaxies that are approximately 15 billion light years away. Now I've seen some wise talking birds but if they really wanna impress me I'd like to hear their opinion on gravitational lensing. I win.

Fish: Have receptors that are used to detect changes in water pressure and may be used to locate prey and aid movement. I could care less about water pressure but I also have receptors that aid me with movement. I also have a car if I really wanna move. I win.

The catfish: Has approximately 100,000 taste buds. Humans have only 10,000 taste buds. I think I have better taste than fish since I really enjoy lobster and I haven't seen to many catfish doing the same. Last fish I saw was on the end of my hook. I win.

Flys: Eyes have a flicker fusion rate of 300/sec. Humans have a flicker fusion rate of only 60/sec in bright light and 24/sec in dim light. I would like to see a fly use that to its full advantage before I swat it. I win.

Mice: Can hear frequencies between 1,000 and 100,000 Hz. By comparison, humans can hear frequencies between 20 and 20,000 Hz. Can you imagine the size of MP3's, iPods etc if we could hear as well as mice or other animals? Plus there is no way a mouse could out run a cat. That is something I do not have to worry about. I win.

Penguin: Has a flat cornea that allows for clear vision underwater. Penguins can also see into the ultraviolet range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Really? Well I have seen things penguins can only dream about. I win.

Cats: Can see in the dark. So can I and that isn't all I can do in the dark. I win.

I could also take any of those animals on in hand to hand combat and win easily except for maybe against some dogs and elephants....but if I was packing they wouldn't stand a chance. So what makes you think then these animals so much better than us?

You say science is what we use to decifer an already existing "technology" yet to be discovered through science. So nature created the television, remote control, iPod, internet, or gun? We just discovered them through science? Or did we create things that nature is not capable of creating? We can already genetically engineer things and it isn't far off before we can create species that most likely would never evolve. Species with life spans far greater than anything that has walked this planet before. We will one day be able to genetically engineer our immune systems to fight off most, if not all, known diseases.

You say all we do is copy (and in alot of cases enchance) technology from nature. I would like to see nature create a nuclear missile capable of mass destruction. Sure nature can come up wih volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, and hurricans which can reak havok but they are all so unpredictable.

You ask why Atheists find it hard to believe that Nature could have been created by a being who is more intelligent than us humans? If humans are around long enough we will most likely be able to do the same. Would that make us gods? Or maybe we've just been around so long we know everything? Look what we've done in the last 100 years. One dsicovery leads to another and being human we tend to wonder about things which brings up some very interesting questions. We don't like not knowing things. Our need to know pushes us a little further down the road.

You say where would man be without nature? We wouldn't be here but neither would the ants or the fish. So yes we would know nothing but that would be because life did not take place here. For some reason the same elements that allow the matter and energy in our universe to exist also if combined correctly allow for life.

Is it chance? Is it only possible through design? Just for the universe to exist seems like a bit of a miracle. Change the strength of gravity, or fool around with the strong and weak nuclear forces etc and poof! The universe wouldn't exist in any way that we would recognize. Chnage just a few values and matter might not even come to be. Either we got really lucky or that is just the way things are. It is almost impossible to wrap your brain around it. In one way it seems that things exist perfectly for our universe and life to exist. You could also say how can things be any other way? The universe has no choice but to exist in the way that it does.

So I don't think you are correct in saying that the technology is already there, it is just waiting to be discovered and enchanced, molded to our use. Technology is not something that just exists and is waiting to be discovered. If we or other life were not capable of self awareness and thought technology would not exist. It is only a product of our imagination. I don't think it matters if we were created by some divine being or we simply exist. Either way it is pretty fracking wild that we can even consider either possibility.

I do have an interesting question for you. Can you tell me where and how consciousness exists? Is there a single point in the brain where consciousness exists? Maybe it resides in all the chemicals in the brain? How can the DNA that controls what life is dictate to the cells that make us up that we should be self aware? Will we one day be able to say this is what consciousness is and it is this tiny thing right here that lets us look around and go "Wow that is kinda neat." Maybe we will never know for sure?

I would go back in time to just before I got in the time machine to not only let myself know that it worked but then I could watch myself go through the time machine for the first time. Then when my other self came back in time to just before I went through the first time he would arrive to see 2 of us waiting for him but from my point of view I would see myself come back through time as well as my other self appear just before using the time machine.

We could keep repeating this process over and over again until there were billions of us (myself) which would allow us to take over the world because the time machine would also be a cloning machine.

Anyone get a BFG GEFORCE GTX 260 OC MAXCORE 896MB that came with a tiny led flashlight? I haven't been able to get it working. It comes with 4 of those tiny batteries and I have put them in both ways but it still won't work. Doesn't really matter if I get it working or not just wanted to try it out. :P

I am looking for someone to go back in time with me. You'll get paid after we get back. You must bring your own weapons and I can not guarantee your safety since I have only done this once before and don't have a lot of experience yet.

it should have had the number on the box. unless you got it oem card.firedrakes

It is retail and came with the Far Cry 2 game. I just realized I didn't have to take the computer apart lol. I think I found the UPC code on the box. So I went through all of that for nothing. Oh well at least everything in the case is a little more organized this time. :P

This is BS! Now it is asking me for a UPC code. I wrote down the BFG Serial Number, 2 part numbers, a serial number, and some other number....not sure what it is. I knew it asked for two numbers and I thought I had them written down and wrote down a couple of extra numbers just to be safe but of course it is asking for a number I did not write down.

I takes like 1 minute -_-Daytona_178

Guess how long it took? I thought it would take maybe 15 minutes but it took over half an hour to do. I have speaker cables, video cables, power cables running everywhere behind the desk. Problem is sometimes they fall down between the desk and the wall when you unplug everything. It is pretty dark and hard to seen in that narrow space without a flashlight and with cords running everywhere. I try to rest heavy weights on the cables so none fall down but one did fall down. But I plan ahead and have a metal coat hangar that I bent and converted into a hook device for cables so took less than a minute to fish that cable out.

Not only did I have to pull out the video card but I had to pull out the sound card because ther is no way my hand could fit in the tiny space to plug the power cables back in. The card is huge. The 8800 GTX barely fit in my case and the 260 is even bigger. I also had to unplug the hard drives and several cables which were twist tied to keep nice air flow as well as keep any lose ones away from spinning fans. Any twist ties you remove you also have to put back on.

Then you have to write down the numbers. Fortunately the first ones were large and rather easy to read. The same could not be said about the second set of numbers. With a trouble light and a magnifying glass it was no problem....except for one letter which was pretty much impossible to make out. Called my brother and we both studied it and tried to guess what it was. One holding the light the other the card and magnifying glass. We were not sure if it was a v or maybe an m but then I noticed the sequence of numbers and letters and because of the brand of card I got it hit me what the letter must be.

So it was probably closer to 45 minutes to do everything. That includes about 2 minutes of cleaning up some dust with the vacuum. I could easily cut that time in half or more if I had to do so again but sometimes things come up that you don't expect. So the myth that it only takes about a minute to do...totally busted.:D

Taking the door off the case and pulling the card out takes about 1 minute. The hard part depends on where your case is located. Is it in a desk with cables running everywhere that are hard to get at? I would much rather click a button that says "You're good to go." :D

To register your video card you have to take the computer apart and pull your video card out because the model # and serial # are on the back of the card. I can do that no problem but it is time consuming and annoying as hell. Is there a program like CPUID or something that can read that information on your video card so you do not need to take your computer apart?

I wish companies would quit this practice because you forget about writing that stuff down when you build your system and then find out you need it once you are online and are filling out the registration only to realize you have to shut down your computer and take it all apart again just to register.
