It's 89% of households, not people, just for those who were saying it was impossible.

These console analogys are terrible. Just because the dreamcast failed, everyone compares a console they think will fail to dreamcast. The situations are completely different. Dreamcast failed because sega lacked funding, and didn't have dvd, ps3 has tons and has blu-ray, dreamcast had tons of great and original games, ps3, not so much. dreamcast started off with a running start, ps3 did good, but not great.

Like every console, its not just one audience. Especially iwth the wii it's everyone, nongamers who want to get into videogames, casuals who like the ease with which they can play, core gamers who like the nintendo franchises, hardcore gamers who want a new way to play the games htey have always loved, etc

[QUOTE="HeyHeyMyMy"]

Xbox 360=

United States, allied with the Soviets (wii, wii60 movement) early on (in WW2) against the germans (PS3), but seeing the soviets grow in power, especially among the third world (the casual market) they tried to combat them in that arena (recent shift towards family games by microsoft, no longer wii60). However, has the first world (hardcore gamers) down fairly well. Doesn't have as many men as the soviets (higher price) but better equipment (more power).

Wii =

The soviet union, was allied with the United States (xbox 360, wii60) against the germans (PS3). After their early victory, turned to spreadnig communism, which was appealing to the masses, especially in the third world (casuals). They followed their REVOLUTIONARY ideology, communism (the wiimote). Then fought for dominance with the United States (360). They had a huge army, the largest in the world (low prices, lots of sales).

PS3 =

Later:

The Germans fought against both the soviets and united states early on (wii60), leading to an early loss in WW2 (current sales problem). After their early defeat they switched focus, soon becoming one of the richest nations in the world (PS3 will have to cut prices and shift their focus if they want to get any market at all, and I'm confident they will). Incredibly powerful (blitzkreig) but expensive. And led by idiots early on (Ken Kutaragi = Hitler).

Lisandro_v22

mmm so in summary u said:

Wii: Communist

Xbox: Capitalist

Ps3: Nazi

yeah it's pretty well i would add the lack of raw material to the wii (but there will be soon) and don't forget the Nazy control of the media, still you compared the wiimote with communist and that implies failure and i don't think the wii is failing in any way

Well, things could turn out differently in this cold war! :). Plus, communism only failed in some parts of the world, it still goes strong in a few countries, and with some revamping could turn out alot better than it did.

I believe 360 will get the jump they need in september, but I think when nintendo follows up with smash and mario they too will get a sales jump. So I think you'll see both jump about the same distance, but prior to that wii will be right on it's heels, so I think you'll see it pass the 360 in the first half of 2008. In the second half however, I think wii sales will slow down because right now it looks like the only big first party games will be mario kart, pikmin, and harvest, leaving a gap that third parties will be filling. And I'm sure that with all those sales they'll produce some great games for the existing fanbase, but they won't be able to expand it as much, meaning 360 and ps3 will catch up. Past that point, into 2009 and such, it's impossible to predict what will happen.
