First of all Blu-Ray is killing HD-DVD, Playstation 3 40gb is basically the same price as an elite with more functions... Playstation 2 has a fan base of over 100 million users and most of them bought the ps2 due to games like MGS, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy etc which are all due for PS3 next year... Also like the xbox, ps2 and gamecube all 3 next gen consoles will reach a stage when they are the same price and by then all 3 will have great software to support the systems but picture this...

Playstation 3 including: Built in blu-ray player, Wi-fi, free online play and HDMI 1.3 (not 1.2) no need for batteries or a play and charge kit, Upgradeable hard-drive instead of having to pay £120.00 for normal hard drive hidden in a stupid case.

PS3 owns all when it comes to hardware and will continue to do so and in 08/09 the software support will allow to expand on PS2's existing fan base.

Commmon sense dictates...so which console will you continue to invest in? One that places its very foundation on physical distribution? Or one that sees a new future where digital destroys physical? Me personally, I think Sony will continue to lie and noobs will contiue to follow...but in the end MS will prevail.

If you think a typical PC can play Bioshock on levels better than 360 you know nothing.

I own 2 360's and play both all the time.

a premium since launch and an Elite since 2 weeks ago.

Never had RRoD but its all good cuz I have a 3 year free warranty. Too bad theres not a warranty for crap games.

Wii has already proven it's a joke.

The software attach rates prove people buy it like a toy for their kids than throw it in the cellar after 3 days of Wii Sports.

If they cant attach game sales to console sales (when its got the largest userbase of the new consoles) devs wont make games for it period.

Sony burned two years making Cheaper diodes and claiming the gen started when they were ready.

When we hit the 5 year mark in 3 years the next Xbox will be shown and launched the following year. This is how it has always been. PS2 launched in 2000 and PS3 was shown in 2005 and launched in 2006.

I predict by 2009 Sony will formally admit defeat and withdraw from gaming forever as a hardware developer, after Sony pulls the plug on the now defunct gaming division.

Because on PS3 the highest blu-ray the console can read is 50 gigs. The PS3 CANNOT read anything bigger than that. Look up the specs for yourself if you don't believe me "holmes"

Whats even more depressing is the fact that PS3 reads BR at 2x and Xbox reads DVD9 at 12x making the size difference in both formats pointless because they end up being the same.

Digital distribution however, can be read VERY fast right off the HDD and can take up tons of room because it has no physical boundaries and doesnt need to be triple layered to work properly on a console like BR meaning it usaully wont exceed 5 gigs..

Second, I love how you tell me DVD being read at 12x is the same as BR at 2x. Tell me, what is the mas capacity of a DVD? What is tha max capacity of a SINGLE layer BR disc? Yeah, not even close. And if you want to get into load times, go play Uncharted.

You are right, with PS3 current configuration, it could not handle more layers. But telling me 1440p is important over the next 5 years is like telling a sheep that HD is now. Once HD penetrates more than 50% in the U.S>, then and only then would you have a point to even look at 1440p. Needless to say, 360 can't handle anywhere near what the PS3 can with the DVD/BR difference.

Again, you go with digital dist. You are truely a lemming to follow MS right into the hole. Again, PS3 offers digital downloads as well.

uncharted would EASILY fit on a DVD9.

They had to copy multiple copies of Uncharted on a Blu-ray disc to speed up load times and cache data to your HDD. The thing is you are being lied to, being told all this BS about how true HD this is important. Look 1440p isnt important to gaming the same way 1080p isnt important to gaming.

Yet you still buy an HD player because you fall for the hype lol.

12x disc reading will always pwn the life outta BR's 2x and will forever this gen prove no game will ever be larger on PS3 in envirmoents and especially not length. Heavenly Sword syndrome.

Microsoft made the best console out there for gaming...don't belive me/ Look at Gears...sold in the millions back when 360 had as small a userbase as PS3 does now. Name one game that has sold as well and as fast as Gears did...
