The XBL userbase is much larger than the PSN userbase and everyone pretty much has a headset. Therefore, more trash talking.

Yeah, that could be the reason.I've played both COD4 on my PS3 and my friends Xbox360. On PSN, we're talking about the football season, wives, and favorite tv shows. Sometimes you get that one kid who comes in and shouts the "n-word". On XBL, I kept getting in rooms with the guy who telling everyone to "shut-up". The kid who's constantly singing some stupid song. Then ,of course, the racist e-thug. This isn't a one time occasion. This is my experience on both.

Mics are readily accessible on Xbox 360. There is no great hunt for the perfect mic on our console hence more talkies = more idiots.
