Darwin was a great scientist, but remember he could never explain why there is variation within species. Of course, we know now about genetics and the related epistemology and morphology.

Plus, Darwin was an ordained minister...

[QUOTE="Engrish_Major"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"] I never said the government had to have a for profit model. I said, if the government wants to offer an option, they ought not place undue burdens on private enterprise. Government business = fine. Government regulation = not.Vandalvideo
I don't think you can just make a blanket statement that government regulation is bad. Government regulations keep us safe with almost everything that we do in our daily lives.

I can, and I will. I don't think governmental regulation of private enterprise ought to infringe on any rights granted by our social contract, the Constitution. As the Constitution is the parent contract of all contracts subsequently made within the territory of the United States, those contracts made in keeping with the parent contract are fine. Impairing free enterprise is insidious no matter how good natured it is, because it ignores our fundamental social contract.

...and this is where conservatives start to contradict themselves. You guys always talk about the evils of infringing on 'free enterprise,' but do you know how the current system works? This 'free enterprise' you hold so dear is a handful of corporations that destroy small bunesses (Wal-Mart, Target, *ahem ahem, the list goes on) and in effect TAKE AWAY the rights of middle class individuals to start their own businesses. That's not free enterprise, that's rule by corporations at the expense of the American people. If we can regulate the large businesses, then maybe small business owners can make a decent living without constantly having to worry about Wal-Mart shaving 12 cents off their sneakers. The Constitution was talking about protecting individuals, not multinational conglomerates (despite how the Supreme Court has ruled defining corporations as 'people...'). :roll:

I have a tortoise shell/american shorthair and she's pretty mean-spirited. Tortoise shells are known for not being too sweet, but if you want a nice cat you shoudl go for one of those puffy ones with lots of white fur (not a pug-cat, though...yuck).

They're good. Probably the most straightforward rock band I've heard in my entire life (except for maybe Manowar... :roll: ), but a fine band nonetheless. I don't think they're particularly special, though.

[QUOTE="GabuEx"]

Well, then do your part to offset that, then. ;)

There's a difference between 'vitriol' and fact-based inferences. My post is the latter.

Eh? I'm not really sure what you're referring to there.

Oh, okay. I thought you were implying that my statement was 'vitrolic' or 'ignorant,' so I responded in kind. Sorry about that :P.
