Hell no, some of my favorite games of this generation were only in the 8.0 range. One of my favorite PC games (Killing Floor) got rated a 7.5 and I've logged over 300 hours on the game
You know what the real downer here is? OMG SPOILERS!
Heavy Rain had multiple plot holes and red herrings. One of those unexplained devices that seemed to serve no purpose was Madison's insomnia. Why couldn't she sleep? Why did she always wake up at the same time? Why did she have such a violent nightmare? This was the golden opportunity to fill in important backstory--to explain something important. So what does Quantic Dream do? They create something completely unrelated. It's such a cop-out.What's next? We want to know why Ethan had blackouts, and why he woke from the first one with an origami figure in his hand. Another red herring/plot hole. They'll probably take this amazing opportunity to tell that side of the story--by having him save his ex-wife from a mugger. How wonderful.
As you might be able to tell, I have major issues with Heavy Rain's storytelling. It is an amazing ride as it occurs. The moment it's over and you apply brain cells, it crumbles into dust. Can't argue with those points. Even though it was a very GOOD game, once you try to connect the dots it just doesn't work. While I wouldn't say the story "crumbles into dust," it is apparent to me that Quantic Dream took some shortcuts. Though I must say this game was much better than Indigo Prophecy, which was a roller coaster of a game. At least Heavy Rain was consistent all the way through. Still gonna buy the DLC though. Just to form my own opinion on it. I mean, even if it really does suck, it won't be the first time I wasted $5 :P
Let's calm down a little bit here, people. Take a closer look at the press release. I will quote a bit for your convenience.
Under the terms of the agreement, Activision will have exclusive, worldwide rights to publish and distribute all future Bungie games based on the new intellectual property on multiple platforms and devices. Bungie remains an independent company and will continue to own their intellectual property. sonicmj1
So this means that:
Bungie is not owned by Activision, as Infinity Ward is.
Bungie owns this new IP that Activision will publish. This will make it harder for Activision to screw with that IP.
Bungie's deal only extends to the unnamed new IP. They can publish other sorts of games with any publisher.
Still, I'm rather shocked. This sort of deal seemed to be something that only EA did. Given all the Infinity Ward drama going on, you'd think that other FPS developers would steer away from Activision.
THIS. Do any of you people actually read the articles posted here on System Wars? Good grief...
i was just looking at this https://zunestore.net/us/catalog/ZuneCards.aspx does this mean u have to pay monthly for the zune or what is this like a itunes card to buy music?
Wolfetan
A 1 month pass gets you unlimited music downloads for the month (though you can't listen to them if you don't keep paying) but allows you to keep 10 songs a month, regardless if you keep your Zune pass or not. So basically, you pay $5 a month for unlimited access. It's a really good deal, I've had it for over a year now. I got a 80 GB 2nd Gen Zune and love it!
