@evil_snuggles Agreed, its time this BS stopped, its pretty obvious MS is gonna turn this into a witch hunt. Punish everyone for the sins of some, good job MS, no really, you killed it with this...literally.
@Gamernametaken @HybridKing If there's one thing I've learned about pirates, if they can find a way, they WILL pirate something, games being no exception. So they'll basically lose money anyway in addition to consumers.
@Gamernametaken @HybridKing I'll say this as a gamer, not a fan of Sony or MS.
If MS thinks this is gonna work, I'm sorry but mandated online check ins? No, just no, it didn't work for SimCity and it won't work here. Also, when I loan a game to a friend, I do so EXPECTING the game back, I don't expect my console to tell me the copy I BOUGHT has been locked to my friend's console. And for MS fanboys saying Sony's policies being the same as MS': Its not. The ONLY thing gamers won't be able to do is activate the redemption code/online pass for a used game. Thats IT. The GAME itself will still work, but the code/pass stays with the person who bought it new. Same policy Sony currently employs with the PS3.
@imkain "Publishers of PS4 games, then, can do what's already done on existing PlayStation software: Limit or lock content behind online passes or redemption codes (or opt out of restrictions altogether), which differs from Microsoft's limited license of Xbox One software."
I get what you're saying. Buy a used game, the redemption code and online pass won't work, thats what they're saying. Its not about online verification for the game itself, its about the codes and passes.
The biggest thing thats making me get a PS4: No required online check-in. The game I BUY is MINE, I'm not renting it at $60, I'm BUYING it so its MINE.
