That said, I like the update, and avatars are still a stupid idea.

im hering alot of bull crap about people who hate avatars and or the new dashboard style and i would just like to say im sorry that something like a dashboard is going to destroy your gears of war 2 and Ut3 experience

Secondly didn't we kind of make 360 do this update

• We request hundreds of thousands of downloads(200,000)
• we get pissed off when we have to go through 10 menus just to get the stuff we want (old dash),
• we get ticked when we here that microsoft is getting rid of content to make more space for us,
• we begged for a group chat session with our friends (live party)
• and seamless transition from game to game(new Guide).
• we asked for new social experiences on xbox live(avatars).
• we asked for faster games (installs).
• then we complain that the old dash kept freezing out and glitching and slow menu responses.

so are we really going to be pissed if they actually do something we've been asking for

if i wanted avatars, i would have gotten a Wii. I like the dashboard the way it is now, If they want to streamline it thats fine, just dont take away the themes and gamerpics.MuscleCarMan

hello themes aperae in the background and gamerpics can be used on gamercard but do not replace avatars so that picture next to your name can be a pic but when you go to the comunity chanel you will only see your avatar NBD

It won't work. Camera based motion sensor is too much into the future. Camera motion sensor is too slow. It takes too much processing to inteprete simple images and analyze it. And camera has low capture rate when you need the control to be extremely highly responsive.

5 years later, maybe it is going to work, but for now I think WiiMote is a much suitable for current need. But then again, for long term investment, motion camera is the best choice.

I don't find anything simular to Home. XBL already can do chat and group chat is always in the work. The video group chat has been demoed long time ago. The community thing is nothing out of ordinary from reqular updates. So I don't see anything Home like.

LIKED YOU UP TILL HERE The only thing Avatar copies is the Mii idea, with graphics update.

im not getting mad im just saying nobody has room to say anyone is copying anyone its all for the consumer if sony or nintendo felt any threat what makes you think that they wouldn't sue like crazy the fact is everything in are market evolves based on the competition and if that means copying off eachother is how its going to happen than i am all for it trust me i would not be ticked if nintendo or sony took some of microsofts ideas such as acheivments or dedicated ranked servers competition is better for the consumer.
