Why do people who play on the psn network have to make threads about how people who pay for live are being ripped off. If you want to talk about features then stop complaining about what features are missing to make live not needed. Stop complaining about the fact that your network is slow as hell for updates for games that are needed to make the game play. I mean come on people PSN needs to have a way to get my downloads to me faster it needs to download while i look at my blu-ray movies instead of stopping the download until the movie is over. If i buy socom today i should not have to wait a hour and a half to download a 500MB+ update cause you released a game with crappy online that took MONTHS to correct unlike gears of war 2 which took at the most 3 and still is improving everyday. Free is great but when people say that the PSN is better than Live that is because it is based on everything Live has done right and will continue to do correctly while you still wait 6 months later for cross game chat which still has not come to pass yet. Again you will never hear anyone who pays for live say they dont wish it was free but i get my cards for cheap so why would i get mad at paying less than retail when i spend more on games. And for the love of god please stop saying after 3 years you spend X amount of money on it. I game i watch movies i build computers i do not want to think about that type of stuff cause if i did i would probably stop gaming cause it is a expensive hobby.Vipa37

The only time downloads quit downloading is when your doing somthing online enable it's the same way on XBL. I'm not trying to say PSN is better then XBL I'm trying to say there the same. Yes the big updates are anoying. The reason they are so big is because they come with a patch and add on's. What I wish they would do is make you download the patch when you start the game and get the add on content from the PS store. The only slow part up those big updates is downloading which has nothing to do with PSN but your internet speed and the server your downloading from. Installing is no porblem the 2905MB file that came with Socom only took about 2 mins to install.

[QUOTE="fedor19820"]

thats true but when u pay for xbox live ur NOT getting faster interent

fedor19820

If you meant that in the literal sense then yeah, you dont.

But if you said that to actually mean that you dont get overall better quality with LIVE vs PSN then your wrong, you do get a better sevice with LIVE.

xbox live does have better service than psn but by service am talking about features content, dlc, and demos with that service xbox live IS THE SUPERIOR SERVICE

there are a few like me that dont care about those features i dont mind the slow update downloads because am not going to sit and wait for the update to complete i can do other things (i do own all systems), i dont care for the demos most of the time i know if want a game without playing a demo

so for someone that only cares about online gameplay there is no difference and those that care about features should get xbox live there is nothing wrong with the fee if it offers more features but if dont use the features why pay to play online when the other system has it for free

The only feature I have found on XBL that PSN doesn't have is In Game Pirvate Chat, and where suppose to get that on the next firmware update. (thats what I heard don't if it's true) Content since you have a PS3 you need go to the PS Video store and compare the Movie's and Tv shows to the Video Market Place PS store clearly has more movies and tv shows. DLC sometimes PS3 gets DLC weeks,a day, same time or only on while on the 360 it is the same way. Don't belive me Mirriors Edge time trail map was only on the PS3, Need for Speed new game mode came out on the PS3 first then a few weeks later it was on the 360, BFBC Conquest game mode and Commuinty maps were on the PS3 a day before 360. Demos the new batman demo came out on the PS3 a week before it was on the market place. others a day later, because XBL market place updates a day before the PS Store the only demo I've seen that was on the Makret place for along time before making its way to the PS Store was the Call of Duty World at War demo. For quality the XBL is better, but it's not a big differnce. This is what I know If i'm wrong then prove it.

EDIT: At least PSN doesn't delete your downloads out of your download history. I can download GT HD still from my download history while it is no longer available in the PS store, but XBL deletes stuff out of your download history. Also you can't play the games you bought on another console. For example I bought UNO on my old launch 360 PRO console. Now on my new Refurbished 360 elite I made a new account and downloaded my old account to download all those old games I bought, on my old account uno just locks up and on my new account it shows up as a demo. I find it stupid that they don't show preview of $5 themes while on the PS3 there any were to 50 cents to a dollar and they show previews of the theme unless it on the PSP, but the 360 doesn't and it's a scam since the bottom of the Picture is cut off, because of the new **** interface. Back on the blades they showed the whole picture and on the web site they showed what you were getting now on the web site they hide what the theme looks like.

The last poll GI had showed 75% of multiplat owners prefer XBL over PSN. Who do you suppose I should beleive? After, playing online on both, it's evident XBL is superior and MOST of the people posting in here agree...

MizFitAwesome

lol you want me to make a video to prove it?

To prove what? You basing all of your assumptions on 1 or 2 games? Its evident PSN players must be bored if they are still playing BF2...

The reason I'm using those 2 games is because there the only 2 I own for both Consoles. Xbox gamers ditching games after a year is nothing to brag about.

So when you are buying BluRays (the king of an unnecessary overpriced feature) that makes you a fanboy? Better yet, the people that prefer XBL over pSN are now fanboys?

MizFitAwesome

He's right though I own BF1943 and BFBC for both 360 and PS3 and there is no difference in online play and skill level. Hey MizFitAwesome just because you pay for Live does not mean it's better then PSN. Out of 20 PS3 games I own, 17 of them are online enable and there all populated. while on 360 I own 21 games 18 of them are online enabled, but only 4 of them are populated which is BFBC, BF1943, Marble Blast Ultral, and Halo 3. I own BF2:MC for the 360 EA had to take down the servers because only 30 people were playing daily. Which forced me to buy the PS2 version you know what there were over 100 people on and over 30 servers to chose from. For the record Blu Ray movies are more detailed then DVD movies.

sikanderahmed

ill be honest, when i play BFBC demo and BF1943 trial on ps3 i notice that ps3 players are a lot less skilled then 360 players. btw i didnt know EA took down BF2 MC servers, i used to play that game so much

Yeah, the people that play demo are unskilled, but in the full game they play the same. I was #12 with the Knife over PS3 in BFBC and #14 over all if 360 gamers were more skilled would I be a lot lower on the over all knife leaderboards? I don't belive skill goes by which platform you play on, but it's experience. For example I score 15-30 kills in a round on BF1943 on PS3 I play the 360 version and score from 15- 28 kills in a round. In BFBC my average score is 500 or 900-1050 if I knife on the 360 version my average score is 500 or 900-1050 if I knife.

[QUOTE="Zohluff"]

You guys are **** ridiculous.

Sure, MS isn't forcing you to shell out near the price of a new game a year for online. Sure, LIVE has in game chat. But do you guys realize that PSN offers the same experience in gameplay for free?

If a game is broken like Battlefield 1940-Whatever's chat system, it should be fixed. You shouldn't need to pay for an alternative.

I play HAZE, a PS3 game that bombed and "sucked", online and have a blast, similar to my experience on HALO. I played GTAIV online on PSN and, guess what, it was no different on LIVE. Not a difference in gameplay or experience. Why? Because the game's the game, LIVE doesn't change that.

I see that most fanboys don't mind throwing away 50 bucks on an unnecessary priced feature. Good for you. Ignorance is bliss. Meanwhile, I wont pay **** for online because I rather buy one more game a year. I like being able to go online when I want for free. I don't like being sold a gimped system and then being told if I want to enjoy the full experience it's going to cost me more. I paid for my **** I paid money up the ass for an online capable system and internet. Why do I need to pay to add 1 and 1 and get 2? I shouldn't. It should be free.

So, fanboys can suck on their XBOX LIVE all they want and give a million reasons to justify why they're being scammed. Meanwhile, I'll play some online and download a demo or two without spending an additional penny.

[QUOTE="DamageDamage"]If Microsoft didn't charge I probably wouldn't have Live because the special feeling would disappear. It's better to cost, because they take the money and make it better, unlike Sony, which has nothing. So I think it's a great think it costs.MizFitAwesome

I have to disagree with you, because when I buy XBL I feel riped off, because PSN and XBL give the same exact Features at the same quality. The only thing PSN that really dosn't have that XBL has is In Game Private Chat, so paying $50 a year for in game private chat is a scam. Also Sony has made alot of changes to PSN since 2006 such as ingame xmb, trophies, Home, Video store (which has alot more movies and tv shows then the video market place),IM, Ingame Music, ect.

Where do you get the same quality from when most multiplat owners can see that the XBL features are more streamlined and easier to use?

Ever since the NXE update came out it's been a lot harder to get around then the XMB, but back on the Blades it was a lot easier to get what your looking for. I can't find a difference in the two they both give me the same experience. XBL compared to Nintendo wifi connection and the PS2/PSP service it is worth the money, but compared to PSN it is not because there basically the same. a lot of people say XBL cost money because they get add on content first, but I know that's a lie from experience of owning both consoles. You do relize that the PS3 support more media formats then the 360 I learned that when I was streaming movies to my 360/PS3 from my PC. Not only that the web browser is very good feathure since you can go to facebook, twitter, download custom themes, youtube, ect.
