Usually a booster quits right at the end of a game. If it's slayer and it's 49-40 or KoTH and its 249-200.

You quit to lose EXP. The less EXP you have, the faster you rank up. If you quit and your team still wins, you still get credited for the win.

The downside is when your team loses, because it kind of messes up everything.

ya, this pretty much. It's called negative exp boosting, find someone or buy a 1 month card (preferbly this guy is pretty good at halo), and in one playlist (normally doubles or team slayer) they quit out like 200 games. because they have such a bad win/lose ratio if they win one game they'll prolly rank up to like 10 from rank 1. If you party up with this guy and go and win some games you'll rank up at a pretty fast pace (2/3 ranks at a time at 40+) compared to the normal win 3 games to rank up once. Bungie is banning negative exp boosters now though, so if you plan on quiting 200 games at the last second be warned.

edited cuz i said lose instead of quit

Ahh! Okay, thanks, that was really helpful. :D

Oh, okay. I see. So, if your team loses, do you rank down?

Hey, Lately I've been hearing a lot of talk about boosting. And I've even had encounters that seemed a lot like someone was boosting, and I don't get it. This incident in particular was very strange. Can someone explain it to me? So, I was playing team doubles earlier today, and it was me and a random against these two other randoms. They were "OmFg A BoooStEr" and "o SwAg x KiLLa". They were both recruits with 0 total exp, and very low amounts of games played other than ranked, if any, and that was still low, as well. They had pretty high skills, and low doubles exp. They both killed them selves once, so the score -2, 0. Then they ran up to us and sort of stood there as we killed them. -2, 2. Then promptly jumped over the edge and quit before they died. That doesn't sound like boosting to me. Now here's the weird part. I was matched up with OmFg A BoooStEr a couple games later. 1 more team doubles exp, a couple more ranked matches played, still a recruit, and his highest skill was up 6. Can someone explain to me what that was all about? Thanks.
