No, thanks. FFXII is one of the most mind-numbing games I've ever played,  and I'm a huge FF fan.

What!? FFXII probably has the best battle system. I loved the gambit system. Reminds me a lot of Macros in MMOs. It was a great way of allowing the player to concentrate on using the main character while at the same time having some say in what your party members do without slowing down the pace of the entire game. And the best part is it was all optional. Definitely the best combat system in any FF game and one of the best JRPG combat systems out there. The story and characters on the other hand....well those left ALOT to be desired (except Basch of course :D )

The characters werent very interesting, but at least they didnt annoy the hell out of me.  And the writing + voice acting were leagues above other FF titles.

But I agree, I loved the battle system.  The world too.  So much to do, so much to explore and some great variation from one area to the next.

I think they should say screw the remake and get to work on a game that shares FFXIIs foundation.

The voice acting was legit, but i gotta throw one VA that pissed me the frak off to no end....FRAN! OMFG. her voice was so freaking obnoxious. Its like the voice actor who did her had a cold or something cause she just sounded so nasal :?

When I first heard about it I was excited, Then I heard Snyder was directing it, and that was a blow to the face. The 57% review doesnt really bother me. It was expected. The moment I heard Snyder was the director I dropped my expectations, so while many people are disappointed, Im quite sure I will go in with the appropriate expectations.

I played it for a good 6 months when it first came out, I found it really good until I maxxed my character, then it became very boring, just pvp'ing in the same places over and over and over, i suppose not too different than other MMO's. It is the best free to play mmo out, give it a go, a solid game.

That's exactly what killed me, the end game. You get to a stage where all you do is just PVP in the same damn battlegrounds or wait to do the same damn dungeons/raids to get better gear. That's the main problem with MMOs, it all devolves into a grind towards the end, just trying to get better gear to one up someone else

And then the MMO that was supposed to change it all, Guild Wars 2 came out. Yes, there is less emphasis on getting items to win, and the PvP is much more skill based, but I dunno what it is...I just find the combat boring as all hell! I dunno how that game got such great ratings! Look I know I'm probably just the odd man out here, but I actually like the Holy Trinity of Tank, Damage Dealer, Healer. It makes sense, it brings about a feeling of team work and when you complete a dungeon you feel like you all played a valuable part.

In GW2 the lack of defined classes made it really messy for me. it just felt like everyone was just doing their own thing in dungeons. The best analogy I can give to this is that Games like WoW or Rift which use the holy trinity system are akin to Socom or Battlefield where team work is necessary. GW on the other hand is very COD style where everyone is just out there doing their own thing just spamming spells. I dunno, thats just how it felt to me and i got bored quick.

Also I really hate the concept of ur skill bar being linked to your weapons. Really lame. Anyways...I digress.

I used to play it way back when when you had to pay. It was pretty good. The problem with Rift and pretty much all Trion games is that they are well made, nearly bug free and the concept and gameplay design work, but they have no soul. They just feel like a decent remake of a far better game. I played it for a while, it was fun, then I just got bored. Also these people need to get a better artistic director cause their art style is so stale and unimaginative. its free right now, so there is no reason not to try it, but i got bored after a while. I would give it a 7/10

Well what will decide whether or not the division works is if its as seamless as the e3 demo hinted at.
