I thought that was Leon in RE5 :|King_of_Sorrow

Wrong. It's his racist twin brother.

I don't spend enough time on forums to know what is old and new. I'm sure there are other people who visit less frequently like myself who have yet to see it and it's definitely worth seeing.

I saw this on another forum and thought it was classic so I thought I would share.

Mass Effect and BioWare in general makes me believe that games can be truly great again... Not recycled garbage JRPG stories, not pigeon holed in one type of battle system. All they do is make amazing experiences...

Bottom line, Mass Effect is a AAA game in every respect... those that didn't mark it that are "holier than thou" tough guy reviewers that want to make people "oooh and ahhh" over overblowing a few minor technical issues... yes I'm right and yes I'm looking at you Gamespot...

Could not agree more. I think a lot of people who don't like Mass Effect would be happier if they just used the D&D rule set and rehashed their past glories. I'm not one of those people and I get bored if I play too many similar games and ME was different to anything I have played before.

It has similarities to Deus Ex and KOTOR but the overall experience was a breath of fresh air and unlike many games this generation there was many hours of interesting content in a single-player story driven game. Even if they had have been able to make a game as good as Baldur's Gate 2 and in the same vein as BG2 but with better graphics and a different story I would pick Mass Effect over it every time. BG2 is one of my favorite games but I have already played it and many, many more like it.

I don't spend that much on either console or PC hardware. Last gen I spent not much more then $1000 on PC and less then thaton consoles and owned a GC ($200), PS2 ($200), DC ($100) and Xbox ($200, none where bought at launch) while keeping up with PC hardware requirements well enough to play most games I wanted. Bought an XP 2000 and Ge Force3 Ti 200 in 2002 and upgraded to XP 3200, extra 512 MB RAM and Ge Force 6600 in 2005. The upgrade didn't cost much.

Gaming hardware is only expensive if you want the very best PC hardware and buy consoles at launch. That said, this gen I didn't wait for a 360 price drop, I waited and year and it didn't happen so I just paid $400. I predict hardware will cost me more this generation, console hardware anyway.

Crysis, Bioshock or Mario Galaxy should be the ones getting the award.

Orange BOx doesnt count since the games content allready won the award(half life 2)jg4xchamp

I agree with Crysis and SMG but why Bioshock? It's System Shock 2 with a new paint job and dumbed down for consoles.

If you want to give it to a FPS Crysis and Orange Box would be much better choices. I personally think SMG or Mass Effect should be GOTY. Bioshock was too similar to SS2 and SMG and ME at least tried to change and improve from previous games by these developers. Crysis too but I'm not a huge FPS fan and Orange Box was a collection of games so I would give it to ME or SMG ahead of it.

If you want a good tech demo you can't beat it. The tech behind the game is impressive, I just wish they had have spent even 1/8 the time on the actual gameplay.

Don't worry I don't think your an edge fanboy. I'm glad you posted the info so I could try to understand their point of view. I did try to see where they were coming from but wasn't able to.
