I think that would be stupid to own oblivion for both systems.EmptySki

It would depend on whether you bought the 360 version first. If you really liked the game you may want the PC one for mods. Oblivion was a real surprise for me. I drooled watching the videos and was excited watching Greg play the game when Gamespot first got a copy of the game. I expected to play this game for hours and hours... but to date I have probably only played it for about 20 hours total. I'm kind of worried the same thing might happen with Mass Effect because I'm anticipating that game as much as I was anticipating Oblivion if not more so.

Yeah well I'm not too fond of the mindless shooting games your brother makes. Deal with it. In a perfect world everyone would play traditional adventure games, space/stock market/submarine/flight/war/presidential election ect. sims and strategy games of the turn-based variety but guess what? The world is not perfect! ;)

It might for some people but not for me because it's unlikely to effect PC gaming. FPS and RTS ruined gaming for me far more then the Wii ever will... but even they hardly ruined gaming for me since I do enjoy some games in those genres. Not everyone will dislike the changes Wii will bring to the console market and not everyone will like them. It's a bit early to say what those changes will be and how significant they are.

I really don't think that will be the case. Even if all the game developers decided to start making mini game collections it will oversaturate the market with one concept that won't be digested by consumers. Too much of anything is definitely bad for everyone and I don't think this doom and gloom that people are in fear of is really going to ever happen.

At the very least, it will reduce the amount of "real gamer games" that come out every year. With the current drought and the lack of quality games we can usually already expect, I really don't like the idea of that sort of thing happening.

I can understand why you would have that fear but I truly think it is unfounded. I think people are confusing growth of the video game market as a whole with shrinkage of a "hardcore" market. Casual gamers will eventually graduate to hardcore gamers and thus increase the demand for more indepth games. If the market expands as a whole then expect gaming variety to increase on a casual level and on a hardcore level. I see it as a win not a loss, good sir. ;)

Certain games do get less numerous when more profitable types of games come along. It would be nice if they didn't but when was the last time there was a space sim with as big a budget as Wing Commander 3-4 or a adventure series as prolific as King/Space Quest? No it looks like all those people who started playing games with FPS/RTS or who preferred them still don't like these genres and it's still less risky to invest money in the more popular genres. Why would it be any different today?

[QUOTE="yoshi_64"]Before this thread turns to Wii being the only system catering to "casuals" and "non-gamers" MS has announced they will be targeting them as well. :| yoshi_64

That's kind of the entire point of his argument. If Wii sells well everyone else will want to copy.

So suddenly it's ok for one company who's entire focus to shift, and the "hardcore" fans still pass judgment on the opposing side? That's laughable. It's called hypocrisy.

I'm not sure what your getting from what he said. All I thought he was saying is it will be dissappointing if the kind of games he enjoysare reduced in numberdue to no longer being the most profitable type of game. What did you think he was saying?

In years gone by many genres which were considered to be too dry have died out. Games like Mario, Zelda and other more action oriented games replaced them because they were bigger sellers. Later on the creation of the FPS and RTS genre really changed the type of games being released on the PC. This is nothing new and if the Wii does succeed at what it's doing it won't be the first time i have seen the style of gaming I enjoy become near non-existant. Just learn to live with it.

Since he is the self appointed leader of the free world I'm rating him too.

Gameplay:5 - AI isn't very good and it can lead to a lot of strange decisions.

Graphics: 8 - Not bad looking in a dumb cowboy kind of way.

Sound: 7 - Has some trouble with the English language but otherwise good.

Value: 8 - Your just going to want to elect this guy again and again.

Tilt: 9

Overall score: 7.3 - Good

[QUOTE="steppinrazor88"]They hate looking at their own flaws and attack the best country in the world :PBassBoy45

What flaws? Anyway I have never heard an American say something negitive about another nation before

France...

Notice the roled eyes. I have heard a lot worse from Americans about people from middle eastern countries than France but yes France gets a lot of flak too.Someone has already mentioned freedom fries in this thread I believe. Their fighting abilities also seem to be a topic of interest for Americans.
