It's going to be a while until we see a variety of games optimised for DX10. You only need to look at Crysis to see the potential it has. Right now I don't think it's worth it, unless your current PCis in need of an upgrade anyway.

Graphics and physics are important to me in genres where a cinematic feel improves the enjoyment of the game. Most genres can really benefit from having good graphics and physics but the game itself has to be good of course. I want the games I buy to be the best they can be with the hardware available. If I'm playing a game of FIFA it's better if the characters react more like their real life counter-parts and it looks more like a real match. If I'm playing an RPG it's better if the character can show expression on their faces and it's better if the worlds can be more detailed and immersive ect.

The PS3 is doing poorly but it's early days yet. I can't imagine gamers are just going to miss out on games like GT5, GTA 4, Final Fantasy XIII, MGS 4, Burnout 5, Resident Evil 5, Tekken 6, DMC 4 ect. just because it's not the cheapest console on the market. The same goes for the 360 since it shares some of the big games the PS3 is getting. Has there ever been a generation in gaming where the most dominate 3rd party franchises from the previous generation have been on the least dominate console?

One of my female friends works for Chrome studios. She doesn't look like the stereotype nerd, in fact quite the opposite.

Looks much the same. As long as both versions have a steady frame rate I doubt any gamer would care which one they played.

Considering how much money they appear to have invested in Final Fantasy XIII I would say this is a new revelation. I wish he had have just said "we will make games for whatever system sells the most" because I think that's all he was trying to say.

You don't need massive well known developers to have quality games. In fact in many ways I prefer the smaller development teams. My favorite game on PC at the moment (Spaceforce: Rogue Universe) is from a small developer and it's graphics and gameplay rivals what is produced by somethe larger development houses. These smaller developers often work on less safe or popular genres and that is good for anyone looking for variety in their gaming diet.

Shenmue costed 70-80 million.Panzer_Zwei

Don't get me wonrg I loved the game but you would think they could have hired some decent voice actors for $70 million :)

Shenmue was for it's time but there probably have been games with larger budgets since then. C&C 3 must have had a very large budget considering the actors it features, the expense of the engine and the FMV effects.

It would depend who you ask. I have been able to find a few 360 games to enjoy but my tastes are probably very different to yours so I don't think it would help if I listed them. Nothing I have played is so amazing I would feel compelled to recommend it to you despite any difference in gaming tastes.
