For aging technology it's doing a great job at producing the best current gen games.

Well your on Gamespot and there is a wealth of information about the system to be found. Spend some time looking around the 360 section and you will increase your chances of buying what is best for you.

Some people didn't have a game cube, but bought a wiihummer700

Wii is backward compatible and the game should be cheap now.

The engine wasn't even designed specifically for the 360 so I doubt it would be the best the 360 can do. The UE 3 engine is very impressive regardless and can be optimised well for PC, PS3 or 360 but I'm sure someone will come out with a better looking game for 360.

Yeah I would give it 7.2 but for hype and sales it scores a solid 10.

If it has a larger install base then PS3 and 360 combined then it will get more 3rd party support. If not developers will continue to make multiplats for 360/PS3 because of their similar hardware. At this point they can also multiplat to PC with 360 and PS3. It could happen but the Wii really will have to sell a lot of units for it to get the best 3rd party support.

I don't see what you're trying to say?whoisryanmack
Blue ray, Hdd as standard and the Cell won't be used to their full potential because multiplats will be designed to run on 360. Just like the original Xbox's more powerful hardware and Hdd were not often used to their full potential because many games were designed to run on the PS2.

[QUOTE="Idonomeus"]Every company tries to make as much money as they think they can get away with. That's why the Wii costs $250 despite the actual hardware costing much less than that. It's also why Sony is willing to take such a loss on their hardware to ensure a blue ray victory. The methods are different but the end goal is the same.Flame1

TRUE but its the milking that gets the TC upset which makes a good point.

If I were the TC, I'd be a lot more irritated at the release of the $480 Elite as opposed to the withholding of $4 maps.

new consoles will come and go, but if MS monopolizes the game industry then videogames will suck forever.

The same would be true if any company had a monopoly in the industry. I can remember what Nintendo did with royalties when they almost had one. It's one of the main reasons 3rd parties abandoned them when Sony came along.

I know but it's important to remember that Gears of War was AAA and GOTY here even before any map packs were released. Downloadable content is new to consoles and MS is testing the market. If they find out people aren't willing to pay extra then they will have to change their business model. I haven't bought anything on live and don't plan to.
