Every company tries to make as much money as they think they can get away with. That's why the Wii costs $250 despite the actual hardware costing much less than that. It's also why Sony is willing to take such a loss on their hardware to ensure a blue ray victory. The methods are different but the end goal is the same.

No I'm saying that in the context of this generations system wars many series on that list are of little importance. I wasn't the one that started on the topic on sales but that is what this thread is about. Sales wise the games I mentioned are not as important this generation as past generations.
The huge amount of Tomb Raider, GTA, Sims, Final Fantasy, Mario, Zelda, Tekken, Resident Evil, etc. etc. etc. etc. games that are coming out THIS GEN would disagree with you.

Your link is for an online site. My figures are from a published multiplatform gaming magazine. I tend to trust the latter, not the former.
Those are the exact numbers Wikipedia has had for a long time. I don't trust anyone that uses wiki numbers and that magazine is no exception.

And the lowest on the rung sold 11 Million, if you would have taken the time to look. Halo might have made 12th or 13th (which is still pretty dang sweet!)

Some of those series while important in the past are not as important today as some of the franchises Microsoft has. Sonic for example. You have to remember that they have only been in the game for a single generation and games such as Gears of War and Halo sold more than many of those top franchises did with their first game. I disagree but regardless of our personal opinions it was the best selling series last generation by far.
The generation is 4-5 years long and the Wii is not in the lead yet and only has a 3 million unit lead over the PS3 at this point in time. Last gen around 150 million consoles were sold, so a 3 million unit lead is nothing in a race that long. When GTA 4 comes out I expect both the PS3 and 360 to start picking up in sales.
