[QUOTE="Idonomeus"][QUOTE="Tristam22"][QUOTE="Idonomeus"]GTA 4 for 360/PS3. It's not exclusive but people are going to buy these systems to play this game.Tristam22Well I take "killer app" to have bigger implications than just sales. If that were the case, SSBB is undoubtedly the Wii's killer app. But although SSBB will use the Wii Remote/Nunchuk (in addition to GC and Classic support), it doesn't appear it will feature any motion-sensing. I think that the "killer app" of a system is a game that drives sales, is highly anticipated, AND fits the philosophy behind each system. I think GTA 4 will do all that very nicely. I think it fails the latter point, partly because it isn't exclusive. The "killer app," by all rights, SHOULD be an exclusive. MS and Sony, after all, do not possess the same philosophy They don't? They are both going for a more traditional console with it's main difference from their past console being power. I think GTA 4 will show what can be done with the extra power these console provide better than any other game.

PS1, PS2, DS all did/are doing well and were/are not the most powerful system..chicken008The PS1 had better graphics than the SNES, the PS2 was above the PS1 in graphics and the DS had better graphics than the GBA. The increase in graphics with the new system was apparent from day one. So far games on the Wii have not looked much better, if any better at all than GC, Xbox and PS2 games. That's the difference.
and then i look at the nintendo DS success... this TC put no thought into his thread. graphics dont make a successful console, games do, and the ability to play many different kinds of game adds to that success. Rahnyc4DS had better looking games than GBA from day one.
