What?? most of the country is rich, if you look out the window you'd probably see a ferrari every 2 mins or something there. and i don't think it funds terrorism!!!! thinicer
The country is most certainly NOT rich. The rulers are rich, yes, but generally the people are not. The per capita income of Saudi Arabia is $12,000, which is fairly high by middle east standards, but still falls well short of the United States and Western Europe & Japan.
That is a long way behind most western countries. $30k is the average for western Europe or Japan and the US is about $40k. Here is a link for anyone who thinks I'm making these figures up. The person I quoted was a bit off but not too far the GPD per capita for SA is $13 500

[QUOTE="Idonomeus"]WTF is home? Should I care about it? Seriously your going to need to give me more information than the name if you want a decent response. If you google home you come up with all kinds of stuff.NewnabIf you havn't heard of HOME I'm going to assume you only started coming to System Wars yesterday. Google Playstation HOME.
I have been on the Gamespot forums before system war was created and posted one of the first posts in this forum :| Playstation home I can find on google but you shouldn't expect people to know about every little bit of new that comes by.

Cows need to find some way to damage control. Even if they need to go back a few hundred years to find it.
[QUOTE="Danm_999"][QUOTE="Luigi_Vincetana"][QUOTE="Danm_999"][QUOTE="Luigi_Vincetana"]Japan is needed because Japan is around 25-30% of the entire market.Luigi_VincetanaAccording to Sony, out of about 115 million units shipped (I suppose since it's last gen we can say shipped=sold), Japan was about 20% of sales, while USA and EU floated around 40% each. So important, but not all important. Certainly, you'd need extreme dominance in both NA and the EU to make up for shortfalls in Japan. http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/data/bizdataps2_e.htmlThat's still a huge percentage of the market to be missing out on. Plus anyway, Japan was in a recession during the PS2 era, now Japan has come out of that recession. There is potential for the Japanese market to expand (it'll depend on what rate of growth they can achieve now). That's a good point, to what extent was Japan restrained by economic downturn last generation. Could it have reached the levels of the USA and EU PS2 consumption.I'm not entirely sure, but I do know video gaming would have done better in Japan last gen had their economy been in a better state. For this upcoming gen I'm will to bet that the Japanese market will become more important as a combination of a healthier economy and the increased effort by devs to expand the target audience.
I don't think that's likely. In terms of population we are looking at 127 million in Japan, 300 million in the US and 486 million in the EU and that's not the only PAL region. The economic downturn was not so big it would have had a huge impact and I think the much smaller population is the main reason Japan had less sales than the others regions.
