Potentially yes but Sony in its current form cannot aquire Take two, remember Sony is not 100% game dedicated and for it to spend 2 billion on an aquisition will be a hard sell to shareholders, for MS 2 billion is alot less than 2 billion for Sony, MS could get a 2 billion dollar aquisition past shareholders without to much of a fuss.

Yes but what does that have to do with take two, MS cant monopolize anything with its purchase yes it monopolizes with its pc sector but in this case it would defniantly be EA who monopolize it. MS would only gain a line up of very profitable exclusives from this purchase

You do realize the casual gamer who only buys these systems once they drop below the $200 range wont be getting the PS3 for another year atleast but the same person will have PS2 games so yes it does suck, besides keeping a bunch of system is neither practical or convenient always, my setup works perfectly right now and adding other consoles would mean disconnecting my current gen systems each time I wanted to play PS2 as all my ports are full

Loss of thier best exclusive games to MS and they over priced thier system because of arrogance.

Now they are paying for it and Microsoft continues to make solid moves by securing the best titles on the 360.

Agreed Sony gonna be crippling in sales this holiday compared to wii and 360 and they are hoping for MGS4 and Killzone to be there Halo but those will be temporary boosts, losing GTA will hurt Sony tremendously as with Halo 3 and the rest of the 360 games such as Mass Effect getting GTA for 360 willbe the choice of most casuals as its the superior version according to rockstar and their is extra content. If MS succeeds in penetrating the casual market with its lower price and superior multiplats then Sony will need more than niche games such as Final Fantasy and MGS which provides temporary haven.

Afer the July NDP Sony had to realize how deep they are falling behind, it is almost guaranteed that Sonys PS3 will break the tradition and not sell 100 million units

i love how a system with 120 mill users cant even sell more then 13 mill copies of a game. On a side note pokemon red was the best when it first came out.

What a game sells has nothing to do with what the system sells,the system itself has very little influence on what a game sells.Games do however influence the sales of systems.

That is very wrong userbase has everything to do with sales, most of the gaming market consists of casuals who buy 1-2 consoles at best in a gen. Most chose PS2 last gen, now comes along the release of Halo 2 on the xbox and it sells 8 million, that is very significant as the userbase barely extends past 24 million. Now games like GT are open to over 100 million people who have the choice of purchasing the game. It is safe to say that if xbox sold 100 million Halo 2 sales would be significantly higher as I personally know atleast 5-7 people who play halo constantly but do not own the game or xbox as they play at my house. All of them are willing to purchase Halo but cant justify the purchase of an xbox back near Halo 2 launch. The xbox 360 however is reaching a wider market than the original leaving room for Halo 3 to be a bigger success, having over a million preordes with less than half the userbase of Halo 2 launch supports that conslusion

Pcs arn't more expensive then consoles.. a $800 pc will outperform every console and yet.. You will be able to use it for things other theng aming.. Things that are a neccesity to having now a days, such as word processing, internet surfing, as well as other more technical programs..

The reason why people don't do pc gaming is because its too complicated.. You can rig the PC to yoru tv and sit on a couch and play the game.. But it will take longer to do but you will have more customization from it.

dont get ahead of yourself, sure you can build a very decent computer for $800 but thats all it will be is a computer, except if your a p-rate you have to buy things like word and windows to get all the features you are refering to so add maybe $300, hermits need to stop trying to convince that with a rigg less than a $1000 will you be able to run games on the same level as consoles assuming you are a good buy and stay legal.
