Music and Movies

I've spent a lot of time listening to various movie soundtracks over the last year or so and tonight I'm watching Pirates of the Caribbean - Curse of the Black Pearl, which was the one that started it all for me. The soundtrack is just incredible - rousing, and perfectly suited to every scene in the movie. Other fantastic ones are Batman Begins, Crimson Tide, The Rock, Kingdom of Heaven, among others. I also got the soundtrack for season one of Battlestar Galactica, which is some of the best music ever written for television. I always look forward to each new episode to hear the music, as well as to see the episode itself.

Phew... Finally Friday...

What a bloody week this has been... Nothing major has happened, just lingering hangover from last week (which was really not a good one) causing mass amounts of stress, and on top of that I have found that I have one day a week at work that I absolutely despise. Also, thought it was great - drive the bus home, park it in the driveway, have my morning break - well, one of my neighbours complained (don't even know why - not like I left it running or anything) so now I'm going to lose approximately half an hour off of my break each morning. I can still come home, but it's going to be more of a pain in the a**. Ah well, it's Friday, and when I get home, I can make a lovely dinner and relax...

Mountains Out Of Molehills

As per usual, I was stressing over nothing - first day went very well, so I'm much more relaxed about the route today. Tomorrow might be a little interesting - it's my odd day where I do something else, but if there is no other reason to like Wednesday, I get to sleep in an extra half an hour. Instead of starting at 5:30, I start at 6:15 - woo hoo! Zzzzzzzz......

Stressed... lol

It's such a little thing to be stressed over - anyone getting the idea that I don't always cope well with change? Took me an hour to get to sleep last night, then I must have woken up at least five or six times through the night. Wake up, look at the clock, roll over, go back to sleep - repeat, ad nauseum. Have to figure out my bus this morning too - get used to where the wipers are, etc. - as it's not one I've driven before. I'm sure someone is thinking "a bus is a bus is a bus..." but trust me, no, not really - come talk to me when you've spent a miserable twenty minutes trying to figure out how to turn on the damn wipers when it's raining because you've never driven that particular model before. Just like you need to familiarize yourself with a new (or new to you) car, same deal. And I'll shut up now as all this has nothing to do with anything, I'm just babbling again - one of my "talents".

The Night Before...

I'm all nervous about my new run tomorrow... Not sure why, it's not hard or anything, but it is different than what I've been doing for the last two years or so. I will finally be on a day shift - mind you I start at 5:30 a.m., but I finish at 1:40 p.m., so I can be home by sometime around two and I'm done for the day. I've been doing a split shift for the last two years, so it will be interesting to see how I handle working a full day straight through. Probably a good thing I have a physio appointment tomorrow afternoon, after my shift, to get my neck back after a full day. It's used to four hours on, four hours off, then four hours on again. I suppose I'll see tomorrow if I can cope.

Last Day...

This is my last day on my current route, and much to my surprise, I have more than a few folks who are actually going to miss me, and who are worried about the person who will be taking over - will she run on time, like I do, and so on. I know the person who is taking over, so I've been reassuring them that the only thing that will change is the person in the driver's seat, and now I'm just hoping I don't live to regret those words. My faith in others has taken a hard hit recently, so makes things kind of tough.

All Noobs Again

This is what, the third time in the last month that everyone has been put back to level 0 again? That seems to be a rather large bug... Damn near gives me heart failure every time I see that, especially when I think of all the work I've done, all the stuff I've written, and it all counts for naught...:cry::cry: Ah well, it will be fixed soon, I hope - I want to see how much I went up this time... posted four reviews yesterday, hopefully will boost my level a few points. Have more to do today, as well, assuming I don't go for a nap after my physio appointment. Do you think work would notice if I just didn't show up, went back to sleep? Hmm... such a lovely thought :)

Round To Monday Again...

Morning all you non-existent people who read my blog here - how are we today? I am quite well, thank you for asking... This is my last week on my current shift at work, so starting next week my posts will have a time stamp of even earlier than they do now. Of course, it would help if the times were correct in the first place, but no matter how many times I set my preferences for "GMT - Eastern (U.S. & Canada)", it comes out that instead of posting at 5 a.m. I'm posting at 1 a.m. Ah well, not exactly a major issue or anything, I just find it rather amusing. Mind you, I have been told that I have a rather odd sense of humour... :P Just did a spell check - you would think someone would add "blog" into the database for this, as that is what this is...

Back to work, darn it...

It sucks, but my neck is fine - or at least it's okay for me to go to work, anyway... Too bad, I was really enjoying the whole stay at home thing, except for one part, and that is I have to figure out how to get *paid* to stay home :D I keep hoping I'll win the lottery, but so far no such luck. I have the first hour of season 2 of BSG to watch, and the first 2 hours of 24, and an ep of Desperate Housewives - I'm set for today's entertainment. Somewhere in there I have to make something for dinner, too, and wash the dishes, do some laundry, and oh yeah - go to work... Crap... Another busy day - enough to make me want to go straight back to bed and pull the covers over my head.

Lazy Days

There is a bright side to having a somewhat screwed up neck - I've been home since Tuesday, and so have gotten a chance to watch all the shows I've taped, and I'm about halfway through season one of BSG (they finally came on Tuesday - box was in the door when I came home :D ) Have to go get my neck checked out in about forty-five minutes, and I have no idea if I'm going to be off a little longer, or if I go back to work. (Time off! Time off!)
