I'll go through a case of beer in about 3 weeks. I'm more of a whiskey guy, anyway.

[QUOTE="ImaPirate0202"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"] Michael Bay movies are known for explosions and lame plots. Transformers 1, and 2 both had sub-par plots, but we're given good reviews because of how well the movie was made. Obviously if you want a story with some deep meaning, a movie about giant alien robots coming to earth and battling isn't going to be it.Nibroc420
The first Transformers was regarded as actually a pretty decent film. It's the second and third that are just hollow shells of the first one.
I keep hearing this excuse everytime someone talks about this movie. People keep giving it a pass just because of it's reputation, how stupid is that? As if that somehow excuses it from traditional standards of movies.
And there's plenty of well made alien/robot movies. The original Alien or The Terminator come to mind.
Neither Alien or Terminator we're at all deep, or had good acting. I'm confused what you're doing, going to see "Explosions and aliens 3" and expecting some sort of love movie/explaination to the meaning of life. Transformers wasn't meant to be some deep love story, It's about alien robots, who fight other alien robots. Explosions and Robots are about all you can expect from it.I don't really have to debate you anymore. You've pretty much just smashed your argument into pieces.
[QUOTE="ImaPirate0202"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"] Not in movies that are advertised as such... What next, is someone going to go to see "Dirty Girl" and complain there's not enough explosions and aliens?Nibroc420
Sorry, the action wasn't good enough for me to forget the awful acting, pointless forced characters and obvious plot holes.
The funny thing is the TC didn't even mention the special effects in his post. As I said before, movies are judged on much more than just that.

EDIT: I also missed the part where you said the second one was given good reviews. That pretty much just killed your argument as shown here

What did you expect? It's Transformers, do you know what Transformers is? Of course it's loud action. It's not a tea party.

That doesn't exempt it from criticism. Just because it has the standard of trash doesn't mean it's not gonna be treated like trash.
There's much more to movies than just special effects and blowing **** up.

I know I know, Transformers 2 was bad too, but it wasn't physical torture. It was mental torture.
Physical torture is much worse in my book, and by this I mean Shia Labouf never stopped screaming once in the entire 3 hours. He screamed in Transformers 1 & 2, but literally, every second of screentime in Transformers 3 was Shia Labouf screaming his lungs out.
I was nearly deaf by the end of the film, and what's shocking is that there were kids leaving the theater, saying it was the"best transformers movie" and I was still kinda frozen to my seat by the sheer awfulness of what I just witnessed. Like I couldn't get out of my seat, the movie physically effected me in ways noone should have to experience.
You may think I'm trolling. Some of you may even think Transformers 3 was a good movie. But what I am telling you is true, Transformers 3 is physical torture, and you will get Post-Traumatic Stress or a Seizure by watching it.

My favorite scene with Shia screaming was when he was flung out of Bumblebee over the highway. It was a cheap way to exploit the use of 3D and it was just a minute of listening to that kid scream his lungs out. I seriously considered walking out after that part.
driving a car every day is more likely to get you killed than enlisting in the US armed forces. doesn't stop people from doing either, for pleasure, or money, or both.Which has absolutely nothing to do with signing away years of one's life to serve in the military. Not anything to do with the stress. I really really wish every country had mandatory service time.[QUOTE="Kh1ndjal"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Collecting garbage and making burgers doesn't really carry the same danger with it.....LJS9502_basic
So do I... It would change a lot of people's opinions on the military.

Did they ever ask for any more? I served a tour in Iraq, do you see me asking for you thanks?
It seems you're the one upset about this, not them.

My title: Why should i have more respect for soldiers, LEO, and firemen?
Your response: Because those are the people who fight for your right to have that opinion.
You sound like they do deserve more respect.
Going off your first post it seems like you've already answered your own question;)
My answer pertained to my opinion. I respect them because I know personally know what they go through. If you don't, that's fine. I assure you no servicemember will lose any sleep over it:lol:
