I pay them to protect me. Thats their thanks and their job. That payment is in value of their services. Why do they deserve more unless something was done beyond their job?

Did I ever say that it was not? but that does not mean that they can roll in here and "take away our rights". The wars being fought right now are to prevent acts of terrorism, not to "protect American citizens' rights". It's really not that hard to understand.
