[QUOTE="poeton22"]

I'm confused, the 360 has lost what 75% of their exclusives at one point or another through out this gen and when a so called 3rd party exclusive has rumors of it going on multiple consoles, and lemmings want to act like that isn't even in the realm of possibilities.

Talk about an exercise in futility.

Seriously six months to a year, and it will be on the 360, you guys sound delusional.

Are we really getting on the 360 for this when the truth is that just about all of these were stolen from the PS in the first place? Ex. Star Ocean. Tales (which isn't getting a western release). etc. Where as in reality, these are more so the PS losing an exclusive. And then Tekken, FF, etc.

[QUOTE="ImageChef"]But if anyone honestly think this will be up to the quality of MGS4/ Rising, they are sadly mistaken. I always laugh when Cows want Rising to be a minor entry/suck. It's on your console too!jasonharris48

Well it won't be hard to top MGS4 in terms of story IMO.

I liked it. Don't take MGS like you would a hardcore sci-fi universe--> the MGS universe does indeed use coverups for plot holes, etc. However, the main story is about themes and messages, etc., not about knowing the in and outs of the universe. If you are trying to know everything about MGS's universe, you're looking for the wrong things. Because honestly....the details in MGS suck. The main brush of the story, however, doesn't.

[QUOTE="ImageChef"] And the SNES was really the golden age of gaming... lol.

Uhhhh ya actually it and the N64/PS were the points in time where gamers were the most satisfied, easily. So many great titles and it was all just taking off.

yea, those gens had so many AA's and AAA's and even AAAA's....i wouldn't even wanna count them, it'd take forever

....again...you guys obviously play numbers. The rating system at gamespot use to be much more...sporadic. There's more quality games coming out now than ever. Stop living in the past.

ugh...why does everyone bring nostalgia into this?

is it so hard to believe that many of us actually think that the old games are better than new games because they ARE INDEED BETTER?

yes nostalgia is great...but i'm sorry, the level design and gameplay in past rare games are just SOOO much better on every level than new rare games

nostalgia has NOTHING to do with that part of the game

Oh lord....this is the definition of nostalgia. Foxhound-- do you care to explain to these folks why this isn't the reality? Why the SNES wasn't the golden age, why the ps1 didn't triumph, why yesteryear wasn't actually better than today?

Chances are Rising is about Raiden in between MGS2 and 4. While I'm sure it's going to be interesting it probably will be a rather minor entry and probably won't progress the plot at all other than making people hate Raiden even less.

I'd imagine it'll be a full entry in the series, no reason to assume it's not, other than false hate for a series you guys all love. Because MGS....whatever they call the next big console one, will probably end up on the xbox as well. And since this gen isn't seeing an end soon, I'd say 360/ps3 again.

Come on now, a PSP game is not going to be the studios major game. Speaking financially, it makes zero sense. If we apply logic, it's understandable that they're focusing and hyping Peacewalker as of now because, you know, it's coming out much sooner.

[QUOTE="CDUB316"]anyone who goes into playing a game from two gens ago expecting today's standards just doesn't get gaming at all

CDUB316

Nostalgia plays an incredible role in how we see these past games (case in point*). My point is that if these games were released in present day, they would be panned for being horrible games. My point is that standards change and despite looking back fondly, we have to accept this change as a real entity within the industry.

*Recently I started playing Syphon Filter 1, 2 & 3 again. I have very fond memories of these games and played them a lot 10 years ago. By today's standards, they are horrible games, and the only reason why I can still enjoy them, is because I see them as PlayStation games, not modern day games. That's my point. To compare "quality" across a generational gap as big as the one between the N64 and Xbox 360 is impossible.

[QUOTE="InfinityMugen"] Nut's and Bolts was also a collect a thon. It was practically Banjo Kazooie with vehicles. InfinityMugen

? I guess....but the main thing about Nuts was essentially mechanical design for newbs..... More so stuff you got as far as collecting was stuff from tasks or in the hub.

Also, you have no idea what you're talking about by saying it was banjo with vehicles. It really wasn't. It was banjo, yes, but as far as gameplay, outside of showdown town, it felt like no other game I have ever played. You do realize that the main gameplay revolved around building a contraption that did a certain task, yes?

Yes I played the game. The vehicles were a mixed bag for me. It was executed well in certain objectives but clumsy in others. Rare still makes good games and Im not taking that away from them, but they havent been the same.

Do you ever think you executed it well in certain objectives but not in others? because that comment makes little sense..... Honestly....have you played this? You do realize that YOU build the vehicles?

[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"][QUOTE="SAGE_OF_FIRE"] I didn't think Donkey Kong and Banjo were mario 64 clones, they were more open which impacted the gameplay. InfinityMugen
They were open environments in their own right, but from level design, to just the basics of the collect-a-thon to the general progression they were essentially Mario 64 like in one way or another. Donkey Kong's twist was the change of pace between characters. Again I never questioned quality but atleast Nuts and Bolts was to me an ACTUAL BANJO GAME. it wasn't mimmicking or borrowing from another game, it was in it's own right original.

[QUOTE="punkrocker163"][QUOTE="CDUB316"]

yes, they were beasts unlike no other

nintendo wanted a shooter? BAM, here's 007

oh? nintendo wants a follow up? BAM, here's PD

platformer as good as mario? BAM, here's two banjos

a naughty game to make us LMAO? BAM, here's the new and improved conker

They were gods in the gaming world back in the N64 days, now.....not so much at all. :(

that's because everyone from that N64 era team moved on and left the company

that's why nintendo didn't buy them and let M$ have em....nintendo knew they wouldn't be as good as they once were, and well...nintendo was indeed right

STOP SPREADING LIES!!!! When MS bought Rare, basically the multiplayer designer left and went onto make Free Radical. That's all. Just a coincidence in timing, for ONE person.
