Yes but the FX 5500 WILL play source games decently. I played TF2 on my brothers computer with a p4 2.53ghz, 512mb DDR, and a FX 5500 and I didn't have any problems. The X1650 is significanly better but if all you want to do is play source for the minimum amount of money it will work.

The 2600Pro might be better. I would suggest a 2600XT since its only $89 but they're sold out at the moment.

If you must get 8600GT though,get the MSI OC Edition for $90,that would probably be my first choice if i wanted another sub-$100 card,just to see how it stacks up against my HD 2600XT 8)
