Praise be to Yevon. Well actually no, I hate Yevon. But a very hurray nevertheless! A Final Fantasy without Random Battles would be awesome. I can't wait, any news on the release date?

It's weird. I was listening to this chattering bunch of girls on the train the other day. I actually counted the amount of times they said "like". I also made a mental note of roughly how many words that followed. I swear that they were saying "like" at least once in each sentence and usually only eight to twelve words apart. My theory is that it is unhealthy for the jaw-bones.

there was this one forum that tells you control up to 4 characters at a time.......or maybe im just outdatedzero_cool098

Awesome. Hopefully they use a real-time battle system. But, if they don't, and they model it like FFIX then I won't mind. I really liked FFIX.

is it "loser"?

zero_cool098

Nah, it's "like". Well, I knew most of them pretty well. They were girls that I used to talk to quite a bit before year 11 and 12.

I'm looking forward to it too. Have they announced anything about the battle system? I'm hoping they've used the Final Fantasy Tactics battle system as a model; because, that battle system rocked!

its not a good feeling....when i see a girl dressed undecently like on skool i think so lil of her....like i lose respect for that personzero_cool098

I've encountered that as well. Don't worry, by dressing as they do, I don't think respect is quite what they had in mind. Rather, they're most likely looking for the "hottest" guy they can to sink their claws into. Teenage girls are perplexing. I've only met a handful of "normal" girls at school that I can relate to. Most of them are too concerned with gossip, fashion and so forth for their own good.

I hate to be cynical, (not really, I love it), but most of the teenage girls I've met at school seem to use a four letter word, (I'll give you a hint it begins with "L"), in place of the comma in their vocabulary. In fact, I asked a few why that was. They looked at me quite quizzically, as if to say: "wtf". I laughed.

i dont like games where you control only one character......i like teamworkkzero_cool098

Baldurs Gate II and Icewind Dale I & II feature greater teamwork based gameplay then most FF games to date. With the possible exception of Final Fantasy Tactics. Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR I & II both detracted from this style, by focusing on a single character at a time that you could move between. It was a bit of a step backwards from the overhead controls of BG2, but you can still implement quite a bit of strategy. Kingdom Hearts took this approach to it's battle system as well. I think, for some people, it is more comfortable controlling a "central" character which your other characters support using AI. I don't endorse it thuroughly as I like being able to control each of my characters individually if needed. That's just personal preference though.

Note: BG2 does contain more strategic team-based gameplay then most FF games: you control six characters at once, in realtime, (other then when the game is paused), which all need to complement each other well in order to prove victorious over some of the game's tougher encounters. Battles in BG2, regardless of difficulty level, are harder than FF's. I think that's fairly widely known. This is not the case for all Bioware games.

which part is bad?

zero_cool098

Maybe I shouldn't have taken the "I hate Rikku on X-2...she makes me horny part" literally then. I was asking why, her making you aroused, was a bad thing? As implicated by your comment that you "hated" her in X-2. I misunderstood you. Sorry.
