Knights Of The Old Republic makes me grr

KOTOR is one of the best RPG games I've ever played. I mean, it's RPGs and it's Star Wars and how awesome is that?

What irritates me is my inability to play a Dark Side Jedi. No matter how hard I try I can't bring myself to not play Light Side. It blows.

Another thing I hate is the dark/light points system, because you sometimes gain dark points for doing nothing particularly evil, and when you do a good thing you get no light points. You can get light points for charging into battle head-first swinging a lightsaber like a... thing.

Examples: In the forests on Kashyyyk, some Wookiee dude is in a fight with some soldiers. You're not informed of who is in the right, you don't know the situation, but somehow deciding to kill first and ask questions later gains you light points.

Similarly, on Manaan, you investigate a murder, and some of the witnesses are reluctant to tell the truth. Using your Force Persuade power to gain real evidence to defend an innocent man is somehow Dark? NO CHANCE LANCE.

Is it wrong of me to keep Bastila on my team and not give her any clothes or armor so she's a Jedi in her underwear?

Game blows, Part Deux

I just checked that Halo disc again. It is quite definitely not new. I am furious, and will be informing Game of my displeasure.

I'm British, and I'm complaining! Glaven.

I'm not going to shop at Game again.

I went to Game today and spent £130 (about $245, I estimate) on an X-Box(preowned), Halo (preowned), Halo 2 Collector's Edition and an extra controller (both brand new).

Both games were scratched. Halo 2 had one deep gouge in it, and Halo looked like someone had taken to it with a scourer. The X-Box did not work.

A brand new game with a scratch in it is pretty damned suspicious. Although, I will say, in Game's defence, that when I noted I could buy it cheaper elsewhere they 'suddenly found' that the price had been dropped by £15 (28 dollars) to a scant £30. Which, by the way, is cheaper than the same game pre-owned. Still, I'm not accepting it. I want a decent disc.

I also appreciate the fact that the console and Halo were both preowned, and as such there is a risk involved. But the state of the Halo disc is entirely unacceptable. I am going to ask for a replacement disc. And seriously, Game guys. TEST PREOWNED CONSOLES BEFORE SELLING THEM. I've had my fill of preowned consoles now, I'm buying brand new tomorrow.

Tomorrow morning I am going to have to walk into Game and request - no, DEMAND:

A full refund on my X-Box and controller. I return the controller on the grounds that I don't need it without the X-Box.
A replacement Halo 2 disc.
A replacement Halo disc.

I am then going to inform them that it will be a cold day in Satan's Kingdom before I do business with those idiots again. I may, just out of spite, inform them that I will be buying my game at Toys 'R' Us, just so they know they lost out to a non-game orientated company.

This is not what I refer to as good service. I should ask for MORE because I have to give myself a goddamn hernia walking 2 miles with an X-Box.

You know what the damnedest thing about Game is? If you take a game back as damaged, they do not hesitate to try and sell it (as a 'brand-new' game) to somebody else for the same price. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happened to me.

Don't shop at Game.

The Pentium Boy

In a flash of genius, I took the Pentium 4 and ATI Radeon 9700 stickers off of my laptop and put them on my GBA SP.

I AM COMEDY GENIUS.

Winter-een-mas is over, I'm getting a job.

I have my job aptitude test at the Co-op tomorrow. When I get the job, which I will, I'm going to save up £90 and get one of those Platinum GameCubes, to match my Platinum GBA. Along with Wind Waker and Double Dash. Nice.

It's omfg Winter-een-mas

Happy Winter-een-mas, beyotches.

I've gotten San Andreas and I'm happy to say I was right - it isn't even close to being as good as GTA3. I preferred it when it wasn't a half-assed RPG. It's a passable game, but nothing to shout home about.

Thief: Deadly Shadows is good, buy it now.

I will take my GBA to college today as a Winter-een-mas celebration.

I have a gaming hat. Do you?

I have a hat. It is a funktacular hat which is blue and has Costa Del Sol on it.

What I really want is one of the Half-Life 2 hats they gave away with all Steam Gold purchases of Half-Life 2. That would be a funktacularly spenfunkulous hat to wear for gaming. As it is, this hat here is my lucky Deathmatch hat. I wore it when I beat chis at HL2DM and I wore it when I kicked ass at Doom 3. It is a funkatronic hat, ok?
