Xbox isn't bluray they run on hddvd discs. Playstation 1-2 are not blu ray games but a ps3 might be able to play them if they had the correct emulator. Some ps3's do play some ps2 games (look it up) but not so sure about ps1's. Its mostly about getting Sony to provide the software but tthe mony isn't in the emulators....

PS3 already uses blu ray tech so all a ps4 would need is the software (emulator) to be backwards compatable. Its terrible that they are ever considering not making it backwards compatable.

What might have confused you is I was talking about the PC drive that cmacinnis was talking about.

PS3 uses a bluray format just like the ps4 does...same laser bro. PC CD drives use a different laser. Do the research.

Emulator programs are some of the smallest programs out there. Its the money from all the super HD remakes they don't want to lose.
