Men of War is good but i would only buy it for the single player as it has some awesome real life battles in it. A lot of the battles it features are battles not found in other games. It attempts to incorporate a story, but the story doesn't really matter in the end. Men of War: Red Tide is all single player and mostly follows the Russian marines. The single player is pretty close to that of the original Men of War. Men of War: Assault Squad is the best for multiplayer as it is the most balanced. The single player in Assault Squad is good, but all it is is skirmishes where all you have to do is push and take points that the computer is dugged in around while they throw units at you that get harder as you take more points. Not very many people play the multiplayer DLCS for Assault Squad, but occasionally you see a game hosted by them. The first Skirmish DLC for Assault Squad is a defensive based DLC and is good if you like that type of gameplay. I have yet to try the second skirmish DLC. I have yet to play Men of War: Vietnam.
As far as the demo is concerned, the demo sucked compared to the game as I recall it only being the first mission which was the worst one lol.
Any thoughts on Men of War? It looks a bit look Company of Heroes, just not as good. jfcundiff
Men of War blows COH out of the water. There is no base building and everything is based on tactics and how well you know the enemy equipment and your equipment. A lot of the tanks and guns are modeled after their real life counter parts with some balances thrown in so some stuff is not too strong. Each soldier carries grenades, ammo, his gun, and anti tank grenades. Some of the soldiers have sniper rifles, flame throwers, rocket launchers, mortars, machine guns, sandbags, etc. You can pretty much blow up all cover as well. Each of the tanks have different armor values all over. You may have 60 armor in the front but only 10 armor in the back meaning a shot to the back by a low caliber weapon may disable the tank or blow it up completely. You can damage each individual part of a tank. Say for example if you cant flank a tiger because he keeps backing it up, you detrack it then attempt to flank it. If you play it smart you can take a unit that cost hardly nothing and take out a unit that cost a lot.
Little warning though....the game will take you a while to learn due to it having aspects not found in other RTS games.
