Men of War: Assault Squad has plenty of people online and games going. It does have a steep learning curve though due to the complex game mechanics like tanks having real life armor values where a tank can be one shot if a round with a high enough penetration hits a certain spot and the fact you can damage certain parts of tanks.

Its cool that it is finally coming out soon so we can actually see how it is. I am however going to wait at least 6 months before I even look at it. The first month or two everybody will be yelling how amazing it is and how its going to kill all other MMOs. After that is when you start hearing all the flaws that it is bound to have. Bioware is a good developer (despite my last game from them being NWN), but lets face it.....they don't make flawless games. Not to mention Bioware is mostly known for their single player experience despite NWN having an excellent multiplayer. I'm a bit worried based on everything I have read and everything people in the beta have been telling me that it will be WOW in space with less grinding especially since the most excited person in my EVE online corp got in the beta.......disappeared for a couple days then started staying on EVE all day despite the beta still running.

Honestly, what is so amazing about having some sort of a story in an MMO? In an MMO, the players should be making their own stories.......not one that is being told for them. The players are the ones that inhabit the world and they should be the ones that shape it. I can understand wanting to play through a story with a friend but you have coop games for that.

I highly recommend joining EVE University. My corp does not recruit newer players, but we have pulled recruits from them and they are very knowledgeable. They do a wide variety of activites ranging from mining to full blown PVP engagements. Check them out: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Applying_to_EVE_University

EVE has always striked me as a game that is founded almost entirely on its community. Doing anything to piss off that community would not be good, as has been shown.

CCP has a lot of kissing ass and making up to do. For starters, they should give everyone a free monocle and remove all non-vanity items from the store.

What non-vanity items?

[QUOTE="JangoWuzHere"][QUOTE="shakmaster13"][QUOTE="JangoWuzHere"] They are considering adding microtransactions that will affect gameplay such as paying money for ships, ammo, faction standings etc. All of this will ruin the economy which is mostly run by the community. Also it is crazy that they charge so much for cosmetic items that other players can't even see.

I really doubt they would be making microtransactions that would alter the game to such an extent. The crazy price for mere cosmetic items makes me baffled as to why there is so much QQ over it. Just don't buy it if you don't want it.

"Shortly after the launch of Incarna, an internal memo titled "Greed is Good?" was leaked. CCP's community relations team verified that the memo was indeed real, and said that the memo was intended to promote discussion internally. It was not, apparently, a road map for what WILL happen." "What concerns the player base is that the memo said that CCP were considering selling in-game benefits (such as faction standings and ammunition) for AUR. The EVE Online forums are full of people asking for a promise from CCP that in-game benefits will not be sold for real life money. So far, that question is being ignored" Doesn't sound good to me.

Considering the last blog they posted was responded to by a majority of the people "liar!". They are probably waiting for people to calm down.

I already told my members if I find a single member in my corp protesting in any of the trade hubs, I'm removing them from the corp. The protest is stupid and based entirely on a slippery slope argument and the other half is stuff that will be fixed with time......since we have been receiving expansion in smaller chunks since the last one.

The game is currently 30gig install and the game feels more like one of Bioware story telling RPG games with MMO attached onto it.

I haven't played the game, but how much of that space is just all their audio files? I know they are claiming that every NPC is voiced....that much take up a lot of game space.
