A note on Hayao Miyasaki

Well, thursday I was incredibly bored. It was very hot outside, so leaving home would be like hell. I jumped to the couch and started to think about the movie that I should watch that afternoon. Well, after incredibly long minutes of trying to pick between light-hearted comedies and tragic dramas, I just took "Howl's Moving Castle" out of the shelf, decided to watch it one more time.
I love Hayao Miyasaki. Unfortunately, I know very little about his work (I only watched "Howl's Moving Castle", "Princess Mononoke", "Spirited Away" and "the Cat Returns"), but after reminding myself how much I admire his films, I decided to finally collect all his movies.
"Howl's Moving Castle" and "Spirited Away" are probably my favorites. I love the "weirdness" of his work. All his characters are incredibly well done, and the mixture between japanese culture and occidental traditions is fantastic. I also love his villains and monsters (incredibly gross in most cases, I have to say), that in a way show that when you are bad on the inside, you are also ugly on the outside ;) Sometimes, I even think of Hayao Miyasaki as the japanese Tim Burton, because of his bizarre work and notorious themes!
Of course that after watching "Howl's Moving Castle", I ran to my computer and ordered from Amazon the three books ("Howl's Moving Castle", "Castle in the Sky" and "The House of Many Ways") by Diana Wynne Jones. Now I am anxiously waiting for them to arrive!
In the next day, I watched "Princess Mononoke", t"he Cat Returns" and, of course, "Spirited Away".
If you never heard about any of these movies or Hayao Miyasaki, I highly recommend it! :)
Cheers!

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played 'til my fingers bled
It was summer of '69
Me and some guys from school
Had a Band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I should known we'd never get far
Oh when I look back now
That was seems to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life
Summerhasarrived and I am enjoying the beach so badly :P Felt like sharing a bit ofmy favorite summermusic with all of you.
Just two chapters to complete Mirror's Edge. I enjoyed that game a lot! Loved the gameplay and the originality of its story. I also started playing Uncharted (the first one, though). It looks great, very original and the voice acting is perfect for that kind of dialogue and that Indiana Jones atmosphere.
I am just enjoying my vacations, I love to have free time to do everything I love to do! Playing piano, writing, drawing, painting, baking some cupcakes (:P) and listening to good music all day long. And of course, videogaming!
I hope everything isgreat with all of you, my dear GS friends :)
Cheers!

I am so sorry I've been away from Gamespot!
A lot of things have been going through my mind and I backed away from the internet just for a time to collect my thoughts ;)
So... updates:
I boughtfive new games:
- Mirror's Edge
- Heavenly Sword
-Soul Calibur IV
- Uncharted
- Sims 3: Ambitions
I just entered summer vacations (yes!) so I am sure I will be less absent from Gamespot right now :) Grades were great, I just need to rest from thisyear and prepare myselffor the next. I am very nostalgic because I'll change school. I've been in this one for 10 years and it's very difficult for me to leave it :( It's just full of incredible memories, teachings and laughter.
I will also quit my guitar lessons, since it's taking me a lot of my free time, and between piano and guitar, I believe piano is my instrument, it's the one which I indentify myself with.
So, hugs to all of you!

I'm back! :O

I'm back! :O And my birthday's tomorrow :P
How're you all doing? I just came back from Prague (It's in the Czech Republic, Europe, for those who didn't know). It's an incredible, beautiful city - every building is different, decorated with flower motifs, animals, and other mythological creatures. Some buildings are even painted with frescoes that represent entire stories! Being a person that loves architecture and the arts, I found that city absolutely beautiful.
After Prague, we went to Cesky Krumlov - it's a town situated near Austria's frontier with the Czech Republic. That's probably the most cute and idyllic town I have ever seen! The buildings are small and covered with paintings and supported by wooden columns and pillars. Teddy Bears are one of Cesky Krumlov's most remarkable traits, and you can find a shop with a lot of them. They're expensive, though. Wood toys and puppets are another Cesky Krumlov's traits.
I will upload some pictures - youwill find them at my "images" section. At the time, it seems impossible, though, my internet connection is incredibly slow --'
I am still on Gran Pulse on Final Fantasy XIII (face palm) BUT I am currently leveling up my characters and trying to defeat all the bosses around. A long chapter, this one.
Now I will try to reply to all of your blogs (I hope they aren't many, though :P)
Cheers!

I HAVE TO THANK ALL OF YOU GUYS WHO HELPED ME SO MUCH ON MY LAST BLOG! I TRULY APPRECIATE IT!
Hello! How've you been? (points to the sentence above). Really guys, you helped me so much! :) I was so sad about him, and you gave so much support! *hugs you all*.
Ok, so today I had a piano lesson, and as you know, we are in the same academy. It was inevitable that I would see him today :|. This is what happened: The first thing I did as soon as I reached the music academy was to crash into him --' I opened the door from the outer side, he opened the door from the inner side and it was so embarrassing, I didn't know what to say :| Before the lesson started I couldn't even look at his face because I thought that if I did so I would cry.
I had my piano lesson and I think it was the music that gave me a better mood, because after the lesson I went to the academy's common room. He was playing Star Wars on his laptop and I joined him. When I realized we were laughing, and saying jokes, and it seemed like nothing ever happened. It was really weird, but at least we remain friends. :')
Ok, so about more updates. I have been playing LOTR Online. My username is Eldewein, I'm a female elf, Lore-Master, level 9 or 10 (I can't remember well) and am currently in Celondim. I like the game, it'sactually a good MMORPG. I still have to write the review though.
Final Fantasy XIII stopped on its tracks. I don't know why, but I don't play the game for 2-3 weeks :S I really have to finish, I'm still on Gran Pulse.
Oh, other thing. I'm going to Prague two weeks from now :D It's going to be so much fun! I will have my camera and take a lot of photos. I'll post some here after I go :)
This is all!
Cheers!

Heartbroken
by IrithAyllistira on Comments
Important author's note:
Ok, I know you probably don't care about any of this, and don't care about problems of teenagers, and above all, problems about teenage girls who love to ramble about videogames and other random stuff on their blogs. If you are a responsible, and stable adult, and couldn't care less for the problems of youth, skip this blog because it will be an endless babbling about my feelings. However, if you feel merely interested or at least curious, you can read it.
*******
So.
I got heartbroken.
I really have to spit this out, I really do, because it hurts a lot and if I don't tell the story to anyone I think the pain will never go away (yes, very very melodramatic, but yes, very very true.)
My boyfriend and I were together for almost 6 months. He was two years older than I am, and we had piano lessons together. The problem is, I only saw him on saturdays, for about a hour and a half, because we live far away from each other. In the first month, it was a bed of roses. He was always texting me, he was extremely cute and everything. In January it was also good, but the level of "cuteness" was descending. I ignored it, because I thought that it was the magic going away.
Last month I noticed that he almost stopped texting me, always saying that he had to study (he has awesome grades) and because he was in time of exams, I thought that I should gave him his space and let him be alone for a moment. BUT I still was a little bit suspicious. However, whenever we were together, he stopped wanting to kiss me, to hold my hand. It was me all the time, trying to take initiative. Two days ago we were texting each other, and I was talking to him about my birthday party that will be on May, and I was asking him if he could go. At first he told me that it depended on his tests and exams, and I told him that I could postpone the party. Then he started to say that he would feel very shy towards my friends (that he doesn't even know because we are from different schools) and he kept insisting on it, so I said: Look, everyone knows that you are loosing interest. If you want to breakup, we can breakup. He didn't answer.
Yesterday I texted him saying: Why didn't you answer yesterday? and he said: that kind of things shouldn't be discussed over the phone. Then, I said: I prefer for you to breakup with me over the phone today than breakup with me face to face saturday, because sunday should be our 6th months anniversary.
And he called and said that our relationship wasn't going anywhere, the distance, and the few time we had together were crucial and that he started doubting my feelings for me since a month ago, but wasn't really sure.
And this is it. We agreed to remain friends, but I think it will be difficult for me. I really loved him, for God's Sake!
I am a very positive person, as I said before. Although I spent all my day crying (I'm very sentimental, too), I know that I will overcome this, although it's painful like hell. I am not that kind of girl that changes her boyfriend each month. I love good relationships, with a little bit of compromise. Of course I am not saying that I would marry him, but I hate that "make out with everybody" stuff. Judge me if you want, but I couldn't care less.
Cheers! (ironic saying this, isn't it?)

- My Gamespot account jumped from level 5 to level 7 in one day;
- I have a new "achievement" that tells me that I have good taste in videogames;
- I am addicted to the game Jewels;

Hello everyone!
So, I recently bought a few things directly imported from amazon :P I live in Europe and I also find outraging that the prices in my country are so high compared to those in Amazon :|
First of all:
Well, I love strategy games. They are my favorite genre after RPG's. :P I can't help it, I'm really addicted to them. Perhaps it's because I love to have things on control and have almost everything my way!
I like this title so far. I won the Egypt Campaign and I'm currently playing the Europe Campaign. In a fair, quick review, I think Napoleon Total War is a great game, but Rome Total War was also a great game, and it was one of the firsts in its genre of turn-based campaigns mixed with real-time battles. I look at Napoleon Total War as an expansion pack of Rome Total War, not as an independent game.
Haha! Super Smash Bros Brawl! I can't tell you what I think about this one because I haven't played it yet. :P You see, I have a weekend house, and there I have my PS3, XBOX360 and Wii console. The games and movies arrived this week, and I am not going there this weekend, so I guess I'll have to wait another week :(
I had Advent Children in DVD format, but of course I had to have it on Blu-Ray :P This one was a bit hard to get, because I had to convince my dad to pay for a movie he already had :P Also, I am an avid Sephiroth fan. I can't help it :P
I had the opportunity to watch this movie in the summer at my friend's house, and I have to say that I found it fantastic! I loved the new 20-30 minutes of movie, the sequences were great, the detail was incredible! I could even trace the fibers of their clothes.
Well, when my dad ordered the movies from amazon, he wasn't sure about which Final Fantasy movie I wanted, so he chose to bought the two of them :P I had watched FF: Spirits Within before, and I find it an interesting movie. Of course, it hasn't got the magic of traditional Final Fantasy's, but it's a good try from Square. Not a fantastic movie, but still a good one :)
So this is about it :D
Hope you had a really nice week!
Cheers,
~Irith
