[QUOTE="Iyethar"][QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"] As with my car comparison, the Honda (Wii) sells more, being the cheaper, more appealing-to-the-masses choice, but the BMWs (PS3s) still sell, and still stay in business quite well.SpruceCaboose
The problem with this scenario is that road manufacturers are going to build roads primarily for Honda, so in a few years BMW owners won't be able to drive wherever they want to.
And here you are assuming to know the future, and what developers will and won't do. Leave the crystal ball out of it, since so far developer support is not "fleeing" the PS3, as much as you want to claim with the lost exclusives, which does not mean they won't appear on the PS3 as well.
I'm not talking about the multiplat announcements for this year, although those are an important indicator.
Your accusations of crystal-gazing can go hang. I'm talking about the scenario you posited in your car analogy - the one where Wii sells significantly more than PS3, as economy sedans outsell high-end luxury cars.
If Wii establishes the dominant userbase, it will receive more software support. The roads that the BMW owners can't drive on aren't the multiplats going to 360 - they're the Wii exclusives. It's really that simple.
