" You've got a Nintendo Wii. You have a broadband internet connection on your PC. You've heard about all the fun things you can do online with your console. Yet when it comes to connecting your Wii to the net, you don't know where to start. You need a Wii LAN Adapter, the latest networking solution from Datel...

Nononono. That just provides standard Wii online connectivity to those who don't have WiFi.

I'm talking about the GameCube Broadband Adapter. It let you play Phantasy Star Online and allowed for LAN play with a few other games.

where in your post did you say CUBE? thats right nothing you said about it

I did mention backwards compatability.  For the Wii.  But right, that's got nothing to do with GameCube. :|

and the DSL is selling faster than the Wii. Why should they switch priorities? They already have hype in the bag. If people want your product and another one is still selling faster, you'll continue to work on that fastest selling product.

When you're trying to get your new product into the homes of people across the world, you don't let your other product effect the first's production. Nintendo doesn't need to be selling 120+ thousand DS's a month when they want the Wii to be the most successful it can be.

Actually, it's more like 2.5 million DS units monthly.  And they can't reduce DS production.  If anything they need to increase DS production to meet growing demand.

Let's put it this way.  Maybe it was shortsighted of Nintendo to manufacture "only" 6 million Wii units by March of 2007, despite the fact that right up to the wire, no-one believed they would sell nearly that many.

On the other hand, Wii is outselling its competition even with the shortages.  Any additional supply that Nintendo is able to provide will only mean that they are outselling the competition faster than they were before.

Speculation about it after the fact is pointless.  We can already see the results: at $250, the Wii has sold 6 million consoles in five months.  Pricing the same product at $150 would have been ridiculous.

No, not so much.  He's far too obvious about it.

The Wii's sales have again climbed higher, like they did last week. So much for the "Wii is a fad and sales will keep dropping off" argument. Plus the PS3 has dropped, that's good. Hopefully that will encourage a price drop and maybe a lesson for Sony not to charge so much for a console.ithilgore2006

It's even worse than that.  The PS3 has already had its first price drop in Japan.

It seems that the topic title is a little inaccurate.  Eidos stated that most of their major projects would not hit PS3 until the 2nd half of fiscal 2008, which for them begins on calendar date Jan. 1, 2008.

Since most =/= all, that means at least one major title will be released in calendar year 2007.

[QUOTE="Mkavanaugh77"]The more games th betta, something the PS3 is lackinDualshockin
I wonder, with the Ps3 selling more than the 360 was this time last year, how that will affect developers decision after 1 year?

There will also be another year of Xbox 360 sales.  We need some months of sales figures from EU to see how PS3 sales there affect the global picture, but if the underlying demand for PS3 is at all similar to that in NA/JP, it does not seem likely that the PS3 will gain significant ground on the 360 this year.  It is quite likely that it will fall further behind.
