[QUOTE="BPoole96"][QUOTE="Loegi"][QUOTE="BPoole96"] The article stated that IBM was making crazy high resolution screens in the early 2000s but they never hit mainstream and once IBM sold their hardware division to Lenovo, the screens stopped being made

I know, that's why I said "innovate" and not innovate. Apple is just doing something that other people already tried, but people didn't care about. Still, it's better that Apple does this now, than nobody doing it.

Ah, somehow I missed the parenthesis when I first read your post. I do hope that Apple bringing these high resolutions into the mainstream will lead competitors to start focusing on them as well and drive the prices down.

Certainly won't drive the price of Apple products down. I don't even know why they're investing in technology, all they have to do is invest more in marketing and rabid fanboys will lick it up.

[QUOTE="JC_Spot"]I've been playing for about 2 hours and I've scavenged through dozens of towns and only ever found 2 axes, some ammo and some useless miscellaneous items along with dozens of empty cans and tins. No food, no drink, no guns. The fact you start without a weapon is a bit annoying because if you get spotted by a zombie you just have to run until you lose the trail. I've died twice, both times after being desperately thirsty and hungry (how you can starve after only an hour of not eating is beyond me). I've only seen two other people and a cow (in a full server), one had no weapons or anything else like me and the other had broken legs and was crawling around on the ground in a sorry state. I know this is meant to be hyper realistic and extremely hard but seriously, 2 hours of sprinting around through over a dozen towns and finding just 2 axes is kind of pointless, what am I doing wrong?Nickprovs

It's really all about knowing where to go in DayZ. Try to figure out where you are on this map next timehttp://www.teamfackin.com/moocow/dayz/map/.

From that point try and get to large towns like cherno and elektro. They have a few key buildings that spawn gear better than any other places. Firehouses for military weapons, Medical Tents for Supplies/Weapons, Hospitals for Supplies, and Supermarkets for all your general needs (food, water, ammo, compass, watch, in-game maps, ammo, etc.)

After I loot a major city (and survive hopefully) I usually go to either a military airfield or berezino, and along the way look for these things called deer huts which spawn military loot and stop by each small city on the way to check civilian buildings for ghillie suits if I don't already have one. Airfields (especially the North-West Airfield) have the best gear. The only other loot spawns that have better gear are crashed helicopters which randomly spawn throughout the map on each server.

Good Luck!

Yeah I did end up in Cherno and went through a whole bunch of buildings to only find a pistol with 1 clip..... EVERY other place just has empty cans and stuff. Might try some other servers I guess. Didn't find any people for about 1.5 hours as well. Boring as, and there are too many zombies to not give anyone guns at the start. If you get seen you just have to sprint away, it's dumb.

Yeah I never played a final fantasy. Don't know why I should considering all the good games I can playthemajormayor
Most people I know who haven't played FF have the COMPLETE wrong idea about the series, most think they are all sequels based on the same storyline. Do yourself a favor and play one of them.

Not for a while I think, cooling a device that has to perform functions of the CPU and GPU would be very difficult at the very high end, and Intel especially do not have the technical expertise of say an Nvidia in the graphics market. AMD obviously are better positioned to do so, but I don't think discrete graphics are going anywhere in the near future.

[QUOTE="Desmonic"][QUOTE="The_Capitalist"]

You can run Windows on it, and it's not even that hard to do so.

The_Capitalist

But that sort of defeats the purpose doesn't it? Why do that when can just get a PC with even more power for less the price?

I dare you find me a PC laptop that has the same specifications and has a similar weight to this MacBook Pro. For now, you won't find it.

Laptops are meant to be mobile, and carrying an eight pound laptop defeats the purpose of mobility.

Depends what you're using the laptop for. Nobody buys a gaming laptop expecting portability, and nobody buys a portable laptop expecting gaming (unless you're tech handicapped). If you want the extreme ends of both you have ultrabooks, which are more portable than the Pro, and gaming laptops which are less portable but have the power. The Macbook is in the middle, and despite what people always say about build quality, the failure rate of Macbooks is around the middle of rankings among the top laptop brands, with ASUS and Toshiba laptops having lower failure rates.

Retina does look fantastic, but the fact of the matter is the asking price from Apple is absurd, and only people who cannot really appreciate such high resolutions will end up buying it.

You don't have to be a graphics whore to want better graphics than what 6 year old hardware provides.

[QUOTE="Davyvfr"]

[QUOTE="bloodling"]

Macbooks are the best laptops. I wouldn't get a Dell laptop. The screen on a Macbook is the best there is. It's kinda late to get an Xbox with the next one right around the corner.

ronvalencia

Macbooks generally have better build quality, but are out-dated after one year. Also, its really good news a new Xbox is coming out, since those $60 games will drop.

By the way, does anybody think a 32" TV is too big for a dorm room to put on a small desk?

That's why you buy ASUS :cool:

And I love using that graph to own Apple fanboys who always rave on about teh build quality.
