lol My first life in Day Z, i was alive for about an hour, the best weapon i found was an axe, and eventually i died of thirst in the middle of nowhere after having my legs broken by a zombie.... I found 2 other people, one had both legs broken so i had to abandon him (lol) and the other i lost while on the run from a hoard of zombies
Yeah you should be good. The close quarters expansion is a bit ridiculous as well, it's basically COD with a different name. You can random spawn every time so often you will spawn right behind enemies (and sometimes people spawn right behind you). Plus it's just got that spawn, kill, die, repeat formula instead of having any real tactics involved. So you're not missing much.
Had a couple brushes with death; at one point a zombie broke my legs and caused me to bleed, I managed to escape with 3000 blood and had enough medical gear to get myself back on my feet.
I managed to stumble into Stary Sobor where a intense firefight was going down between some people and my group and a bunch of random bandits. I re-broke my legs and knocked myself unconscious when I tried crawling into a shed; I was at 1500 blood with broken legs and was still unconscious when a swedish angel came to my rescue with medical gear.

Probably... The retail model involving a boxed/single sale product doesn't work for modern gaming. Gaming is a service industry now, not a product industry. Having a product based business model for a service based industry simply does not make any sense.
You're assuming gaming goes entirely multiplayer in the future, which will not happen. You cannot have FTP single player games, it just doesn't work.
Oblivion is not a particularly hard game, I'm going to guess you either have selected a horrible mismatch of skills or you've been playing for like 5 hours and think you should already be god.
