COD release games annually which forces you to buy a new game if you want to play the same old stuff, because it kills off older generations fast (MW2 I believe has had its servers shut down). BF3 does not release a new game annually, and it has a 2011 engine instead of the 2007 engine IW is using. Noone is forcing you to buy premium in order to enjoy BF3, I'm doing fine without it..

I'm currently deciding when to upgrade my PC. I'm going to buy an entirely new rig, new tower, motherboard, the whole set up. I was going to do it right now, but then I thought about it a bit more, and I am now considering doing it after the Xbox 720 and PS4 come out. I want to make sure that when I upgrade, it's significantly more powerful than next gen consoles.

Like I was saying earlier, you can use less RAM and a lower quality GPU and CPU in a console to achieve a better result than the equivalent used in a PC. Basically what I'm saying is, hardware has more potential on a console because the firmware/operating system is limited, streamlined, and both the software and hardware are unified/streamlined combining to produce a fully optimized platform. No PC can ever be as optimized as a console, it's just not possible. So while specs for next gen consoles may seem weak compared to a top end PC, they're able to do more with the cheaper hardware than a PC is capable of.

I wanna wait until PS4 and 720 come out, wait a little bit and then make the big PC upgrade so I know it's more powerful than the consoles by a significant margin.

I think that PC is the best if you're a huge fan of Blizzard (Which I am), but unless you take full advantage of Blizzard games, PC isn't as good as consoles in terms of library.

Not to mention, FF7 uses pre-rendered backgrounds. Those wouldn't scale well.

Which sucks as its not even the best game in the series, nor the best cast of characters. They really should give it a rest. I think SE still doesnt realize why it was such a big deal back then and why its not anywhere near as relevant now.
