Monday Announcement:

Pit Moves....well just two of them.

B=Paulatena Bow.

(the arrows can curve up or down)

B+Up=Wings of Icarus

Let Pit Fly for a long but limited period of time.

Good for aerial combos.

Thats all

FalconZero

They didn't give any controls really but if we have to use a GC controller, which I hope isn't the case, that would be correct.

If it used the Gc controller, I refuse to even buy the game. I did not buy wii to play gamecube. :|

Exactly. I'll be really pissed if they use the GC controller.

YEAH!! The game should clearly be using the Xbox 360 controller :D :D

You guys are nuts. SSBB with the Wii-mote? No thanks. Gimme the Cube controller.

I can actually see it working pretty well, granted they did things right.  The wiimote itself could be used for movement, left side of the screen you run left, jerk up you jump..  That would leave plenty of buttons open for moves, and I think it would feel pretty natural to lead your character around the screen like that.

Working

I've got 2 jobs...one is a full-time internship...I get to shadow the software engineering team at the company. I'm enjoying it so far. They want me to learn Python and any programmers out there, if you haven't yet... I recommend you check it out. it's really spiffy :3

videogamegirl05

I'm taking an internship position at my school along with the freelance work I do.  It sounds like I'm going to have to pick up python as well, although for my web design stuff PHP/MySQL, HTML, CSS and PERL is all I really need.  I suppose knowing it won't hurt though.

I'm also considering taking up a position in a jazz band over the summer.  It's a pretty cool group I just stumbled accross, and they're looking for another trumpet, which I happen to be decent at.

Then, of course, there's the manual labor.  I'll be heading out the middle of nowhere and living at my grandparent's house for a month or so.  Luckily, there's a nice beach in the area, and the grocery store (yes, they only have one) carries diet rockstar, $1.75 for a 16 oz can :D

I'll also be heading down to ASU for a wrestling camp.  It's a pretty cool opportunity to work out with the team down there, and I always pick up some good stuff while I'm at it.  Running the mountain and wretching your guts out at the top amidst a lighting storm is always a plus.

Then, alas, it may be about time to put an end to my singleness.  Frankly, I've really just been uninterested in having a girlfriend, as, in all fairness, I tend to be a bit of a douche when girls piss me off and I could never hold a real relationship together :P  I guess I'll have to quit being lazy and put an effort into it... argh.

Finally, I'll be getting ready for my first year of college next year.  I'll be a sophmore in highschool as well as a freshman in college, so we'll see how this works out.  Unfortunatley, I tested really low into math, so I'm going to have pay for a few pre-reqs before the program I'm doing kicks in and covers the actual courses.

In all, I've really got quite the summer ahead of me.  I intended to pick up an extra instrument or two, but it appears that this isn't to happen.  Ah well, I'll be able to handle it ;)

The sales look just as they could be expected with a 5 week reporting period.  I'm slightly dismayed at the PS3 sales, and the health of Sony's gaming department may be in jeporady should FFXIII and MGS4 not make it out in time for the holidays.  Halo3 has recieved an insurmountable ammount of hype from all quarters of the gaming (and casual) community, and I expect it to throw the PS3 into a total shadow for several months.  Hopefully their strong future lineup will pull them out rather than leave us dissapointed with flashy CGI and no real value to the game.

The DS, as always, is maintaining good sales and the pokemon versions clearly helped that along.  The handheld is in every regard a steady seller, and I imagine it will maintain that position for some time.

Considering we are all very competent posters,I would like to see if there is a correlation between our age and how well we post,so lets see how old we all are and see if there is an average age between us.

I'm 14.

VGobbsesser

hmm, it appears that you have taken my place as the youngest union member.  I turned fifteen just about a month ago.

Edit:  Ahh, Mr. Aran and ScaryMovies are both younger than I if I remember correctly, forgot about them ;)

I have twice been in fights, once with a large mexican kid wielding an eight inch butterfly knife, in defense of my blue version, I have taken more verbal abuse regarding this habit than I care to relate, and I have lost a paying position as moderator on a forum for cussing out those who view the game with contempt.  I defy you to challenge my pokemon.

hmm.. several things.  For starters, let's go ahead and forget the BMI.  I am at the very high end of the scale for my height, yet I maintain eight percent body fat (six during my primary wrestling season) and have a higher bench and squat than most kids (wrestlers.. not your gym class dropouts) twice my size.  If the simple statistics of my weight Vs. height were used, I would appear to be another short fat kid.  Simply put, the scale is trash.  Get yourself a body fat clamp and a barbell.  That's how you know what kind of shape you're in.

Secondly, obesity is not a problem that can be fixed by utter discrimination.  Neither is the problem genetic.  According to genetics, I should be in much poorer health than I am.  I build tissues very quickly (hence the high muscle growth when I work my ass off) and have a slow metabolism.  I am your average American endomorph in every aspect aside from an eighteen hundred calorie diet along with daily cardio and heavy lifting.  The issue that plays among the overweight masses of our nation is not (in most cases) genetics but a simple issue called laziness.  This is a disease of our culture, and has more to do with the morals our country holds valuable than the laws we opose on our people.

??? so instead of making new contect for the game and charging for it, they just wont make new content at all? Geez atleast with cahrging for it you have the option.htekemerald

In the interview, he was refering to the habit of some developers of sticking content in a game (meaning the graphics libraries and source code are all there) and then simply charging for the two lines of code needed to unlock the product. I agree with this particular developer that this is nothing other than straight BS. Of course, it does reap a massive profit for the studio if the cards are played right, which explains its popularity. Microsoft has always been a fan of charging for extra content like this.

[QUOTE="Hoffgod"]

[QUOTE="Ninten007"] I saw some sheep hyping this to get at least a 7.5-8.0 and claiming it looked so fun.Ninten007

That would be me. After scores from other sources, including IGN UK, in the 7.5 range I expected more.

So IGN said they didn't like the game. What's the point of this thread?

First of all, never admit something like that on SW.

Means you got massively own3d. LOL, I am loving this. Trying to cover up crappy games by the sales of the Wii. Pathetic. I would rather have a system selling like dirt and was getting top quality games.

Admit what?  That he held higher expectations for the game than it has scored on a a certain site?  (That, might I add, has been bemoaned by several Sony and Microsoft fans as an unreliable source.)  How does this, in any way shape or form, contitute your so elloquently expressed "ownage?"

I intend to purchase this game despite any reviews it may recieve.  Perhaps I too am a sucker for this sort of game, or perhaps I simply don't give a damn about what you, any other fanboy or even a professional reviewer thinks about it.  Games are intended to be played and enjoyed, not used as an ego booster for those who wish it to fail.  It's amazing how a group of "gamers" as so many here claim to be has lost sight of that.
