If you look down on choose console the arcade description is as follows: 'The Xbox 360 Arcade Console offers everything you need to begin playing right out of the box. Plug in the console, connect the wireless controller and you're playing. The Xbox 360 Arcade Family Settings allow parents to restrict game access for younger players. The console comes with a wireless controller and 256MB of memory. There is also an HDMI port, so you can experience your games in the highest definition possible, up to 1080p (HDMI cable sold separately).'

There are black lines going up and down my screen when in a game, but not on the menus. There are also blue dots when I'm at an all black screen. I have not received any error messages for three weeks. What is wrong with my XBOX?DNOMYTE
Not neccasarily your Xbox, this could either be due to a faulty, scratched or damaged disk or 'dead' pixels in your TV that do not 'work' under some lighting effects... test other games if same thing happens then it is either your TV or Xbox if not it is the disk.

Ok lets say i bought an xbox arcade, i know i cant download demos or add ons, but can i still play online multiplayer on games? I know i need some kind of memory unit...will the 256 megabit card work fine? Will it fill up to fast even without online?

xboxmad12
every word of that was garbage u dont need 256 mb memory card at all it wont fill up fast u could get about 20 big games on that and 10 of them u could delete cause u wont play anymore

No what your talking is garbage my main gamertag takes up 5mb, two others each taking 3mb. NXE 128mb, thats over half of the memory card gone and all you have is some gamertags and a compulsary update... The holiday theme that comes with NXE is also 5mb. If you have MW2 then you will more than likely have to download any upcoming map packs just to get a decent online game going, which i found out in W@W (which is why i stopped playing it). I have a 20gb HDD and i only have 5gb left, I have only downloaded the army of two tfd demo and GTA TLAD. I recommend a HDD as soon as possible as you will start to feel left out without one...

Horizontal is best, the largets vent is at the bottom as the top vent is covered by the HDD so when vertical very little heat is diffused.

I have never had that happen to me, before my console died () it froze and would not let me access the dashboard, if this is happening to anyone the inevitable end is near..... so get ready to send it in to MS!

As everyone else has said it depends on how you look after it, you should: Lay it on its side as it is the bottom of the console where most of the heat is diffused. Do not leave it on unnecisarily, such as when you are going out 'just for a short while'. Keep it in a well ventilated area, only on a TV stand if it is completely open. Do not leave cases or disks on top of console covering vents. That is some ways you can extend your consoles life..... hope it helps you out.

why does wrapping towels around it fix rrod (well for a little while) ? I mean isnt rrod caused by overheating..? wouldnt wrapping towels around it over heat it more lol makes no sense U_Got_Boyd

Basically by wrapping a towel around it you heat it even more melting the solder and if done correctly the loose components 'fall' back into place, but by doing this you may manage to do i temporary fix on some components which could then be bypassed in the MS repair centre but you also do damage to the other components.

I got a refurb back from microsoft after recievingt he RROD, mines makes alot of noise whilst playing games too and also vibrates my whole TV stand too. Dont worry about it though especially if you have a warranty as the customer service is great and i got my 360 back within 10 days of it breaking with 1 months xbox live for free.

If he is talking about the actual name font then i am not entirely sure, i think purple ones are 'specials' such as the bone shredder and sledges shotgun...
