I'm thinking you could scale right from space into a planet, and take the battle to the planet's surface. They actually kind of did this in Rebel Strike on the remake of the Hoth scene (which I'd be happy if they avoided revisiting, cuz we've kind of played it 14 times ;), so it just blows my mind what they could do on cell architecture, especially from what they must be learning on Lair.

If you could get out of your X-wing, and then play a competent on foot shooter... well, I guess I'd just cash it all in at that point, cuz that's all I need.

[QUOTE="JackyBryant"][QUOTE="mikeslemonade"]Neither, I refuse to buy this game ever since it went multiplatform. I was never really interested in this game anyway.mikeslemonade

Don't do that, man... I think you'd be cheating yourself out of an amazing game. At least try it once it comes out... Ubi Montreal is one of my favorite developer, so I'm biased, but I think it's multiplatform status shouldn't stop you from giving it a spin.

I hate Ubisoft because they make a game every year for Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon. and Prince of Persia. I don't want to feel like im being milked. I will try Assasin's creed, but there's about a 5% chance that I will buy it. It has no online play either.

I hear you on Ubisoft overfranchising - they get this great IP and then they just whore the hell out of it. For the most part, I actually think the games have come out great, but it kind of seems like they're trying to compete with EA for volume, which is as we all know, NOT the way to go. With PoP it almost seemed episodic but I definitely feel like everybody could have done without SC: PT - it was even by an entirely different studio. Anyways, I hear where you're coming from.

Any love for the RL games on this board? Lair looks absolutely brilliant and I love that Eggebrecht's working on original IP, but I'd love to see the PS3 rendering a full classic Star Wars battle scene. You could just have a huge online death star run, with y, x, and a-wing squadrons.. just as one example. I can't even imagine if they actually got the on-foot sections right, but I'd be happy with just a perfect next-gen star wars flight game.

Actually I was just reading a preview for it in EGM and it's a completely new team. Sounds like it's gonna be super slick. Any chance to take on a T-rex rendered by the PS3 is gonna be difficult to pass up, but the developers have some cool ideas, with the dinosaurs interacting with the foliage and their ability to hunt you. True though, there's not much info to go on right now.

Seems like it'd be pretty easy to put online... there's not a lot of data being transferred. Versus multiplay seems like it might be a little contradictory to the Zen ethos, but it'd probably be pretty fun. I guess you could argue if it's organism evolution, then it's a dog-eat-dog world.

I really reminds me of the final level of Rez... I'm not sure why, just seems to hint at the same themes visually.

Anyone else buy this as in-game? It seems like one of those trailers where they doctor a CG scene with pseudo-gameplay elements like crosshairs, ammo, and power bars to try to lend some credibility to it... It just doesn't have any of the trappings of actual gameplay to me. Maybe I'm way off base... anybody know anything about it?

Otherwise though it looks like it could be a slick co-op game. And my bad if it's been discussed before, all i saw were threads from last year.

That's awesome, man. I love this approach to design, where thought goes into both the content AND the structure, as opposed to just content. This is what you get when go unleash the academic world on game design. I think (hope?) we'll see a lot more of this in the coming years, as the power of these systems increases, so does innovation and thoughtfulness. flOw is one of my top PS3 games I'm looking forward to.

No, lots of people are multiplatform. I know some of you dudes love the AP, but it's worth mentioning Assassin's Creed was designed and built around PS3 architecture and then started later on the 360 so it may be more optimized on this hardware. That said, from the recent demonstrations, I don't think you'll go wrong either way.. especially if you love your points.

It doesn't seem like conventional game per se... it's more like an experience in digital programming. It started out as a grad student's thesis, became a flash game, and now is being transferred to PS3. I think it's pretty awesome actually - I'm all about innovation in game design. The PS3 version is going to be fantastic too - with 1080p and digital sound, you'll really be able to get lost in the experience which I think is mostly the point.
