You want to be a lawyer or doctor, then you have to go to college. So college is worth it. I dont see how people get in debt. Pell grant covers all of my college expenses and then some. I go to a cheap college.
I'd say big Universities are overrated. You pretty much get the same education for a much more expensive price. You can get into the same graduate schools too. You know its not about how you started, its where you finished.
Ive seen no difference from a person going to a more expensive school. My cousin went to a pretty cheap college and now is a doctor. Going to a $10,000 a year college vs a $2500 a year college is such a waste of money.
I thought about going to the more expensive college but you only pay for the name. Kind of like how you pay for the name when you buy an Alienware. But big Universities are a much worse value. You can pay up to 5 times the amount for the same education. With my Alienware I only paid at most 20% more.
If your rich already then a more expensive college should be no problem for you. Wont want to ruin it by having a part time job. You want the full college experience if your paying that much for college.

I realized this after I graduated high school and so went with a local college instead of an renown out of state university. My parents, well mother at least, was kind of disappointed cause she wanted to see her baby go off to a big school and get that "college experience." Nevertheless, she got over it and now clearly sees where I was coming from. My thing is, avoid debt whenever possible. I'm getting a free education at this school, to be honest they're practically paying me considering I get a surplus of money due to the refund checks  I also got a part time work study job on campus so I use some of that for gas and other expenses, but most importantly to save up for when I transfer. If I decide to continue that route.
Meanwhile kids that rushed off to a major university are returning home with nothing to show for it since they ran out of money or dropped out from the fear of all the debt they were pilling on. And that's another sad truth many don't know about; most universities don't offer associate degrees so either you're there 4 years or "sorry you just threw money down a bottomless pit, come again"
I'd say the peace of mind of not having to worry about taking out loans is enough for me to love my decision.
