[QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"][QUOTE="simomate"] Alright, I am getting sick of reading about this "is wii u next gen" argument. Yes, for crying out loud. If apple released an iPhone that was exactly the same as iPhone 5, but maybe a better screen... And a few other tweaks, and called it iPhone 6, it would be a 6th generational iPhone. Generation is not how powerful something is, it's the period of time that something comes out. Wii was 7th generation, and this is widely accepted, because it came out DURING THE 7 GENERATION. simomate
No offense, but if that's what you think then you guys have low standards. How can you be excited about anything then? Nintendo can just keep releasing the same system after the other and you would keep calling it "next gen".
Next gen to me is only when the systems actually make progress, the Wii U is not doing that. It's a current gen system with a touch pad. I see no proof so far for it being next gen, the only thing you guys say is "wikipedia" which was probably editited by Nintendo themselves or Nintendo fanboys.
This isn't about having low standards. I'm not saying the fact that the wii u is 8th generation makes it any better, I'm saying it is just 8th generation. Period. People here really need to educate themselves a bit more. This argument about wii u being next gen really needs to drop as its just ridiculous. Of course it's next gen. Again, I don't mean to say that it makes it any better. The wii was vastly underpowered yet it was 7th gen as it came out in the 7th generation. It would have been impossible to be a 6th generational console as it didn't come out during the 6th generation it came out during the 7th generation. The wii u is 8th generation and that's all there is to it. The argument isn't wether or not it is going to be as powerful as the other 8th generational consoles. If you wanna argue about that instead, then I'll tell you my opinion. No one really knows, but I am expecting Sony and microsoft to release more powerful systems. You like platformers. You're the one with low standards.
