It doesn't really matter to me either way since most of their games are on Sony systems so I wouldn't be able to play anyway.

@Yomigaeru:

And the worst part is that this kind of thing happens with literally everything. It's just that due to certain events and outside nitwits/ideologues, with much too large/loud of an undeserved voice in the fandom and industry, there is now a hyper focused narrative out there being pushed that targets gaming/gamers exclusively.

Um.. There never was a time where there weren't people of all types like that and there likely never will be a time like that. By the point all of these ones grow up, a whole new gen will take their place. And given the trend of increased levels of victimization complex and self entitlement among the up and coming... I'd say we are in for quite a show.

"Back at E3 2017, Microsoft announced a massive update for Minecraft that would make the game's graphics look better--or at least different--across the board. Among other things, the Super Duper Graphics Pack promised "dynamic shadows, lighting that streams through fog, movement in leaves and grass, new textures for mobs and villagers, directional lighting, edge highlighting, and more." However, it's now been canceled."

......WHY?! This is a game world that hasn't even invented "round" yet and we're talking about dynamic shadows and lighting?! This kind of bullshit is part of what's holding gaming tech/design back in the virtual stone age!

----------------

"We realise this is disappointing to some of you--there was a lot of enthusiasm for Super Duper from inside and outside the studio--but unfortunately, we aren't happy with how the pack performed across devices,"

i.e. Phones and handhelds. *facepalm*

----------------

Also.. This means Minecraft 2 is likely in the works.. or at least something they can sell you.

Not thinking that far ahead yet better be the only reason for it's current status in the west. :/

But even if so, it still just makes you feel all warm and happy knowing how much the devs care about fans from other places.... Though I guess most western devs/pubs think the same way.. in the best of times/cases. (i.e. when they aren't throwing their own fans under a buss, or selling out to "bigger potential markets" and such.. smh)

So we have to read "news" about pretentious PR based tantrums from net-nobodies now too? -_-
